Ryman Hospitality Properties Inc. said Wednesday\u00a0it \u201chas not entered into any agreements\u201d regarding a Bloomberg report<\/a> the company is\u00a0seeking to sell a 70 percent interest in its Opry Entertainment Group, which oversees the Ryman Auditorium.<\/p>\n

RHP owns the Ryman Auditorium, as noted, as well as the Grand Ole Opry House property near Donelson. Opry Entertainment Group also recently won the Metro contract to operate Ascend Amphitheater<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The real estate investment trust also owns the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, among other properties. The company offers a market capitalization of about $8.19 billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The release notes RHG has engaged Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC\u00a0“to assist in evaluating potential opportunities” regarding the sale of Opry Entertainment Group.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are incredibly proud of our OEG business and of our role as stewards of these historic and iconic brands, which are deeply important to the country music community and the markets we serve,\u201d Colin Reed, Ryman Hospitality Properties executive chairman, says in the release. \u201cWe have previously shared our view that enabling OEG to operate outside of our REIT structure over time is important for its long-term growth trajectory, and we believe strategic partnerships can further support its growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reed said RHP has received interest from multiple organizations seeking to partner with OEG.<\/p>\n

“We expect to play an integral role in the continued growth of OEG irrespective of any strategic partnerships being considered,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n

Ryman Hospitality shares (NYSE: RHP<\/a>) concluded Wednesday trading priced at $129.77, up 4.46 percent (an increase of $5.54 per share). Volume was robust, as about 1.5 million shares changed hands compared to a daily average of about 578,000 shares, according to Yahoo Finance. RHP stock began the year priced at $109.94, having gained about 37.15 percent of value since.<\/p>\n
