Do not proceed unless you\u2019ve watched \u201cThe Bear\u201d Season 5, including the series finale.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A spoonfull of Sugar\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bear\u201d star Abby Elliott exclusively told The Post her onscreen sibling, Jeremy Allen White, is like \u201ca brother to me\u201d off screen, too.<\/p>\n<p>In <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/25\/entertainment\/the-bear-gets-a-solid-send-off-in-final-season-after-overstaying-its-welcome-review\/\">the fifth and final season of the restaurant dramedy<\/a>, now streaming on Hulu, Carmen \u201cCarmy\u201d Berzatto (White) steps back from the titular Chicago restaurant, The Bear.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Abby Elliott reflected on her time on \u201cThe Bear\u201d in an exclusive interview with The Post. Edebiri and White are seen above. <span class=\"credit\">FX<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The Emmy-wining show originally premiered in 2022, following Carmy as he took over his brother Mikey\u2019s (Jon Bernthal) restaurant The Beef after Mikey\u2019 suicide.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the series, he eventually turns the eatery it into a fine-dining spot with the help of his sister, Natalie \u201cSugar\u201d Barzatto (Elliott); his prot\u00e9g\u00e9, Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri); his best friend, Richard \u201cRichie\u201d Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and the rest of their staff.<\/p>\n<p>For most of the final season \u2014 which mostly takes place over the course of one day \u2014 Carmy is still working with everyone as they try to do dinner service in the middle of a storm. However, the plan is for Sugar, Sydney and Richie to take over in a partnership <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/06\/25\/entertainment\/the-bear-series-finale-explained-did-carmy-leave\/\">after he departs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Elliott, seen here on \u201cThe Bear,\u201d said White is \u201clike a brother\u201d to her off screen. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9FX Networks\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Elliott, pictured here with Oliver Platt as Jimmy \u201cCicero\u201d Kalinowski on the series, said there were \u201ca lot of parallels to real life\u201d as White taught her how to plate food as their characters interacted. <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9FX Networks\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s saying goodbye and handing it off to Sydney, Richie and Sugar \u2014 and it feels like Jeremy Allen White [doing it] instead of Carmy,\u201d Elliott told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>The former \u201cSNL\u201d actress noted that while Sugar has helped out in the kitchen, she hasn\u2019t really cooked before Season 5.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so, Jeremy was actually teaching me how to plate, as Carmy was teaching Sugar how to plate.
