George Clooney’s family now calls their farm in France home, prioritizing privacy and a more ordinary life for their kids.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Amal Clooney’s <\/a>whole life changed when she got married.<\/p>\n The\u00a0international law and human rights lawyer, 48, opened up about navigating the “weirdness” that came with being wed to George Clooney<\/a> at a June 9 panel for Cartier Dialogues.<\/p>\n “I have to say for me it was a weird phenomenon because I used to have my work life and my personal life, and they could look quite different and I was able to not have them mix. And then I got married and that changed quite a lot,” she said.<\/p>\n The couple wed in September 2014, a year after they were introduced by a mutual friend. They welcomed fraternal twins, Alexander and Ella, in 2017.<\/p>\n “And at first, I was kind of conscious of that one-dimensional view, where I didn’t, I felt like, ‘Well, I can’t be seen wearing this dress or doing this because I’m in front of a judge on Monday and I don’t want the judge … But it just doesn’t matter as much as living your life and ultimately, if you’re good at what you do, that is going to shine through or not.”<\/p>\n She continued, “I wouldn’t allow that factor to stop me from doing things that were important for my family, or for my relationship, but it was easier when I could decide what kind of exposure I got. And it was just something new to navigate.”<\/p>\n Amal Clooney reaps the benefits of both worlds, practicing law and championing causes important to her through Clooney Foundation for Justice<\/a>, which she co-founded with her husband in late 2016, all the while attending the occasional movie premiere or award show with her husband.<\/p>\n The couple is intent in raising their children as normally as possible, sharing in previous interviews<\/a> the lengths they have gone to ensure normalcy. In an October 2025 interview <\/a>with People, the “Ocean’s Eleven” star revealed that he and Amal have cut back on traveling to “dangerous” places since becoming parents.<\/p>\n “You can’t just go swinging as you used to,” Clooney told the outlet. “Amal and I both had to change our goals on where we would go. I used to enjoy going to places that were dangerous. I liked going into the Nuba Mountains and Darfur and Abyei, and there (were) war zones.”<\/p>\n The Clooneys have also been open about the steps they’ve taken to protect their family, as they’ve had difficulty maintaining a degree of privacy. In addition to keeping photos of her children private, Amal also collects guests’ cell phones and keep them in a “phone basket” when entertaining at home.<\/p>\n “It’s important to get that balance where you have time alone with your family and with your friends where people feel like you can have a safe and frank exchange,” she told Glamour.<\/p>\n The family relocated to France in 2021 in an effort to give the twins a “fair shake at life” away from Hollywood, and were granted French citizenship in 2025.<\/p>\nThe Clooneys strive for normalcy<\/h2>\n
