Courteney Cox<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s romantic past is full of bright stars and big names, which echoes her career.<\/p>\n After dancing in the dark with Bruce Springsteen<\/strong><\/a> in 1984, the Alabama native landed the role of Monica Geller on Friends<\/em> in 1994 \u2014 and she rose to superstardom shortly after.<\/p>\n As the show took off, Cox\u2019s off-screen dating life became as exciting as some of her onscreen romances<\/a>. While Monica was hooking up with the likes of Tom Selleck<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Dr. Richard Burke and Matthew Perry<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Chandler Bing<\/a> on the comedy, the actress was cozying up to some of Hollywood\u2019s leading men.<\/p>\n \u201cRelationships are tougher than I thought,\u201d the Cougar Town<\/em><\/a> alum told USA Today<\/em><\/a> in 1997, after ending a six-year relationship with Michael Keaton<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cAnd I\u2019ve got a lot of work to do on myself.\u201d<\/p>\n At the time, the Dirt<\/em> star revealed she hadn\u2019t given up hope on actors successfully dating one another, adding, \u201cThe most important thing is to be with someone who\u2019s creative and passionate about what they do.\u201d<\/p>\n Cox later took her own advice, by marrying fellow Scream<\/em><\/a> star, David Arquette<\/strong><\/a> in 1999.
