Katharine McPhee<\/a> and David Foster<\/a> are celebrating their lucky seventh year of marriage.<\/p>\n The L.A. native first got nationwide acclaim competing on season 5 of American Idol<\/em> and though she came in second, the show changed her life in other ways. While on Idol,<\/em> McPhee met the producer, who served as a guest mentor on the show. The two developed a close friendship, with the famed producer playing piano at her wedding Nick Cockas in 2008. She and Cokas divorced in 2016.<\/p>\n Rumors that she and Foster began circulating in 2017, and though she didn’t exactly confirm they were together, she didn’t deny it either. “Here’s how I look at it: I’m not doing anything wrong<\/a>, so whether people think it’s true or false \u2026 there’s nothing bad happening in my life, so people can just say whatever they want,” she told PEOPLE in 2017<\/a>.<\/p>\n By 2018, the cat was out of the bag, and the happy couple was engaged.
