Princess Kate Middleton<\/a> <\/b>is opening up about the way her cancer diagnosis<\/a> impacted every facet of her public and private life.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery year, hundreds of thousands of people in this country hear the words no one wants to hear,\u201d Kate, 44, began in a Sunday, June 28, Instagram<\/span><\/a> statement. \u201cWhat follows is a path that tests every part of who we are: physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. The challenges ripple outwards, touching families, friendships, work and the quiet moments we spend alone with our thoughts.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cCancer doesn\u2019t just affect the body. It changes how you think and feel and profoundly affects every aspect of life. I know this personally, and that the journey through and beyond treatment requires more than medicine alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kate announced in February 2024 that she was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer<\/span><\/a>, subsequently undergoing a preventative round of chemotherapy treatment. The Princess of Wales ultimately revealed in January 2025 that she is in remission<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFor her first public engagement of 2025, Princess Kate Middleton returned to the hospital where she underwent cancer treatment. The Princess of Wales, 43, paid a visit to the staff and patients of the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on Tuesday, January 14, during which she opened up about her own recovery journey. \u201cYou think [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Amid her continued recovery, Kate participated in the Royal Marsden hospital\u2019s National Three Peaks Challenge. (The challenge is a mountaineering event across peaks in Scotland, England and Wales.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI have taken on the National Three Peaks Challenge, not simply as a physical endeavour but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back,\u201d Kate explained on Sunday of her participation in the event. \u201cThe Royal Marsden is a place that holds great meaning for me and whose care and expertise are life changing for so many people.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Kate, participating in the National Three Peaks Challenge has allowed her to raise awareness about \u201cthe importance of holistic healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough this challenge, I want to raise awareness for the deeper impact of serious illness and the importance of holistic healthcare,\u201d she wrote. \u201cEvery individual is different, and ensuring there is a whole person approach to care enables those living through cancer to manage the deeply personal challenge of diagnosis. Holistic therapies complement clinical pathways and support patients\u2019 ability to maintain their wellbeing, resilience and quality of life during an exceptionally difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kate continued, \u201cWe have an opportunity to reshape what the future of holistic cancer care looks like, enabling more people, nationwide, to access the kind of personalised support that can help make a meaningful difference during and after medical treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n
