Gorillaz<\/a>\u00a0have\u00a0announced that their \u2018House\u00a0Of\u00a0Kong\u2019 exhibition is heading to New York for a limited run.<\/p>\n The immersive exhibition\u00a0first launched in London last year and\u00a0invites fans inside the fictional world of the band<\/a>, exploring 25 years of Gorillaz history, artwork, music, characters and mythology.<\/p>\n Billed as a chance to \u201cpeek behind the curtain into the unseen world of Gorillaz\u201d,\u00a0the hour-long experience takes fans through the story of the band and their Kong Studios universe<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018House Of Kong\u2019\u00a0is now heading to the Big Apple,\u00a0opening\u00a0at the Agger Fish Building in Brooklyn Navy Yard on September 1\u00a0and running until\u00a0September 28.<\/p>\n Tickets go on general sale at 10am\u00a0local time\u00a0on\u00a0Tuesday (June 30), with prices starting from $50.\u00a0Fans who\u00a0purchased\u00a0a Kong Card by June 25 will receive presale access from 10am on\u00a0Monday (June 29). Find tickets and more information\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n The New York run follows last year\u2019s original \u2018House\u00a0Of\u00a0Kong\u2019 exhibition at London\u2019s Copper Box Arena, which launched as part of Gorillaz\u2019 25th anniversary celebrations.<\/p>\n The launch\u00a0was accompanied by\u00a0a series of live shows at the same venue<\/a>, where\u00a0Damon Albarn<\/a>\u00a0and co. performed the band\u2019s self-titled debut, \u2018Demon Days\u2019 and \u2018Plastic Beach\u2019 in full, before debuting new material at a phone-free \u201cmystery show\u201d.<\/p>\n That material later became \u2018The Mountain<\/a>\u2019, the band\u2019s ninth studio album, which was released earlier this year through their own KONG label. The record featured contributions from Sparks<\/a>,\u00a0IDLES<\/a>,\u00a0Omar Souleyman<\/a>,\u00a0Johnny Marr<\/a>\u00a0and more, alongside posthumous appearances from\u00a0previous\u00a0Gorillaz collaborators including\u00a0Bobby Womack<\/a>, Dennis Hopper, Tony Allen<\/a>,\u00a0Proof<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Mark E Smith<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a\u00a0four-star\u00a0review of \u2018The Mountain\u2019<\/a>,\u00a0NME\u00a0<\/i>described it as \u201carguably their most rich and complete since \u2018Plastic Beach\u2019\u201d, concluding: \u201c\u2018The Mountain\u2019 is an album that celebrates the love you leave behind, the people you touch, the spirit of giving more than you take, how we\u2019re all the same when it\u2019s done.\u201d<\/p>\n Gorillaz\u00a0recently played\u00a0their first ever stadium gig\u00a0at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London<\/a>, where they were joined by a long list of guests including Marr, Little Simz<\/a>,\u00a0Shaun Ryder<\/a>,\u00a0Yasiin Bey<\/a>,\u00a0Black Thought<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Gruff Rhys<\/a>.\u00a0A\u00a0documentary about the show\u00a0may well be\u00a0on the way<\/a>, after cameras were spotted filming at the gig.<\/p>\n Gorillaz will bring \u2018The Mountain\u2019 tour to Madison Square Garden on September 29, the day after the New York run of \u2018House\u00a0Of\u00a0Kong\u2019 closes.\u00a0They are also heading to India for their first ever shows in the country in January 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
