Gracie Abrams<\/strong> reflected on the advantages she had growing up as the daughter of successful parents in the entertainment industry while pursuing a music career.<\/p>\n In an interview with The New York Times<\/em>\u2018 podcast \u201cPopcast<\/a>,\u201d Gracie started by addressing how fortunate she is to be doing what she loves.<\/p>\n The singer opened up on a podcast. I wasn\u2019t growing up afraid financially, and that\u2019s the biggest deal.\u201d<\/p>\n She then addressed the fact that both of her parents are well-known and well-connected in her chosen field (or at least in its general vicinity). Her father, J.J. Abrams<\/strong>, is the filmmaker behind Star Trek<\/em>, several Star Wars<\/em> movies and Cloverfield<\/em>, among others. I feel very lucky doing what I\u2019m lucky enough to do today. I feel support when I\u2019m playing a show. Or when I\u2019m with my friends. I have a suspicion that people who either enjoy or just spend their time that way on the internet, the likelihood of them not getting support elsewhere is quite high. And so I really, actually, back to the attempting to not take things so personally point \u2014 all of what\u2019s valid I feel and I know. And also lots of criticism, like I\u2019ve had that thought but ten times worse.\u201d<\/p>\n She also spoke about online trolling.
