The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/em><\/a> star Layla Taylor<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about why she hasn\u2019t told her costars about her sexuality.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, [they don\u2019t know],\u201d Layla, 25, shared during the Monday, June 29, episode of the \u201cOn Purpose With Jay Shetty\u201d<\/a> podcast. \u201cWe\u2019ve been \u2014 not in a bad place [with] any of us girls. [But] I know that there\u2019s some friendships that are in different places than they have been in the past. I think right now we\u2019ve just been kind of a little separate since just going on that pause from filming. So we just haven\u2019t seen any of them in person.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI feel like me coming out, it\u2019s not really a text. I feel like I want to see them in person to let them know. So they might see this before and then I\u2019ll talk to them in person the next time I see them. But yeah, for right now, no one from the group knows.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Monday\u2019s episode, Layla came out as bisexual<\/a> and recalled not feeling ready to address her sexuality when she was younger.<\/p>\n

During the Monday, June 29, episode of the \u201cOn Purpose With Jay Shetty\u201d podcast, Taylor, 25, reflected on her complex relationship with her parents. \u201cI think [I wish I got] just a little bit more support. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cGrowing up, I didn\u2019t fit in for a lot of reasons in my childhood. I grew up in a very predominantly white area, and being a little Black girl, I already stood out so much to my peers and took that on a lot more than I feel like I realized,\u201d she noted. \u201cI always had these thoughts and I kind of laugh about it now because I would be watching shows like Pretty Little Liars<\/em> and I would watch, like, Shay Mitchell<\/strong> kissing a girl. I was like, \u2018Wait, why is that hot?’\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cBut I didn\u2019t know what those feelings were because I didn\u2019t have queer representation around me of [someone] I could look at it and be like, \u2018OK, this is normal.\u2019 It wasn\u2019t necessarily that I had parents \u2014 or I was Mormon at one point \u2014 but I didn\u2019t necessarily have that pressure to not do that. I just didn\u2019t have people around me that modeled that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Layla shared that she \u201cdidn\u2019t know if it was just a phase\u201d before she tied the knot with Clayton Wessell<\/strong>, whom she has since split from, in 2020. The exes finalized their divorce in 2025<\/a> and share two sons.<\/p>\n
