Daveigh Chase\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> official cause of death has been confirmed days after the former child star died at age 35.<\/p>\n

Chase died of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) with other significant conditions included chronic polysubstance use, according to documents obtained by Us<\/em> Weekly on Monday, June 29. Chase died in a hospital and the manner of death was listed as natural.<\/p>\n

Chase\u2019s boyfriend, Roy Hernandez<\/strong>, confirmed her death<\/a> to TMZ on June 17, telling the outlet that she died one day prior after battling meningitis and an infection in her blood that led to sepsis. Sepsis is described as a life-threatening reaction to an infection that causes your immune system to harm healthy tissues and organs, per Cleveland Clinic.<\/p>\n

Shortly before Chase\u2019s death, Hernandez launched a GoFundMe campaign<\/a>, where he detailed her health issues.<\/p>\n

According to Hernandez, Chase had been \u201crecently\u201d diagnosed with meningitis and battled \u201cseveral serious blood infections.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHer condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left,\u201d he continued. \u201cAll she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe and be happy. Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI understand we all go through things, but if you can help, I will be really grateful for anything. And if you can only give a prayer, I will take that too. Thank you for considering helping us during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Chase\u2019s death, her former manager John Ryan<\/strong> questioned the validity of Hernandez\u2019s online fundraiser<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cA man claiming to be Daveigh\u2019s boyfriend has launched a GoFundMe page purportedly on behalf of Daveigh and her family,\u201d Ryan told TMZ on June 18. \u201cNeither her family nor her close friends know who this person is.\u201d<\/p>\n

He further claimed that Chase had \u201ca SAG trust account with more than enough funds to cover all medical and related expenses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ryan urged fans to refrain from donating to the campaign \u201cuntil the organizer\u2019s identity and claims can be verified.\u201d<\/p>\n
