THE RUNDOWN<\/strong><\/p>\n Antonela Roccuzzo<\/a> has spent years cheering Lionel Messi<\/a> on from the sidelines, but lately, she\u2019s been stepping into the public eye on her own terms.<\/p>\n The Argentine entrepreneur, model, and philanthropist has built partnerships with brands including Tiffany & Co.<\/a>, Adidas<\/a>, Anastasia Beverly Hills<\/a>, and Alo<\/a> while raising three sons with Messi. Although she has amassed millions of followers on social media<\/a>, Roccuzzo has remained notably private, only beginning to give interviews in recent years.<\/p>\n Ahead, here\u2019s everything to know about Messi\u2019s wife.<\/p>\n Roccuzzo was born<\/a> on Feb. 26, 1988, in Rosario, Argentina, the same city where Messi grew up.<\/p>\n Speaking to Grazia<\/em><\/a> in 2024, Roccuzzo reflected on growing up in Rosario. \u201cMy memories and my childhood were very nice,\u201d she said. \u201cI was always surrounded by family.\u201d<\/p>\n She later attended<\/a> the National University of Rosario, where she earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in humanities and social sciences. She also began postgraduate studies in dentistry before deciding to move to Spain as her relationship with Messi became more serious.<\/p>\n \u201cI always wanted to be a dentist,\u201d she told Grazia<\/em>. \u201cI don\u2019t know why because I don\u2019t have anyone [who is a dentist] in my family, but I always dreamed about it.\u201d<\/p>\n Messi and Roccuzzo\u2019s story stretches back decades.<\/p>\n According to ESPN<\/a>, the pair first met through Roccuzzo\u2019s cousin, Lucas Scaglia, who played youth soccer alongside Messi in Rosario. Although they knew each other as children, Messi moved to Barcelona when he was 13 to pursue his soccer career.<\/p>\n The two reportedly reconnected<\/a> after Messi returned to Argentina in 2005 following the death of one of Roccuzzo\u2019s close friends. Their relationship remained largely private before Messi publicly confirmed in a 2009 interview with Catalan television channel TV3 that he had a girlfriend, per ESPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n Roccuzzo later relocated to Barcelona in 2010.<\/p>\n While many people first came to know Roccuzzo through Messi, she has spent the last several years establishing her own career.<\/p>\n She has partnered with brands including Adidas, Tiffany & Co.<\/a>, Lanc\u00f4me<\/a>, Alo Yoga<\/a>, and Anastasia Beverly Hills<\/a>, and has built an audience of over 40 million Instagram followers.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Anastasia Beverly Hills announced Roccuzzo as one of the beauty brand\u2019s celebrity ambassadors. Speaking to ELLE at the time<\/a>, she admitted that embracing more public-facing opportunities hasn\u2019t always come naturally.<\/p>\n \u201cI was feeling very guilty about leaving my house and not being present with the kids,\u201d she said. \u201cI went to New York for a few days and was feeling bad about it. But when I came back, everybody was perfect. Nobody died. I realized that I can do things more often.\u201d<\/p>\n She added that she\u2019s still adjusting to life in the public eye.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very shy and this is very new,\u201d she told ELLE. \u201cNo one knows my voice. I don\u2019t speak. Even doing this interview is new for me. So with time, I am starting to be more confident about myself and more secure in myself.\u201d<\/p>\n She has also launched business ventures of her own, including the children\u2019s clothing brand Enfans<\/a>.<\/p>\n Roccuzzo frequently shares workout content on social media, but she says exercise is about much more than staying physically fit.<\/p>\n \u201cI try to work out every day,\u201d she told ELLE<\/a> in 2026. \u201cI go to a gym that\u2019s only for women. Twice a week, I do FitJam classes, which are super fun…It is a way for my mind to be in another place. It makes me forget everything and starts my day in a good way.\u201d<\/p>\n She also said strength training completely changed her perspective on fitness.<\/p>\n \u201cI used to be scared to do weights because I thought that I would become \u2018big,\u2019 but that never happened,\u201d she said. \u201cEverybody should do weights at least one hour a day, because it\u2019s very important for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n More than anything, she views exercise as time that\u2019s entirely her own.<\/p>\n \u201cFor me, it\u2019s like my therapy,\u201d she explained. \u201cI leave my phone in my bag. I put my Apple Watch on \u2018Do Not Disturb,\u2019 and this is my one hour.\u201d<\/p>\n After years together, Roccuzzo and Messi married on June 30, 2017, in their hometown of Rosario.<\/p>\n According to ESPN<\/a>, roughly 260 guests attended the ceremony, including many of Messi\u2019s teammates and close friends from the soccer world.<\/p>\n Days after the ceremony, Roccuzzo shared a wedding photo on Instagram<\/a> alongside the caption, \u201cMy Husband\u2764\ufe0f Thank you to all our family and friends for joining us!!! We love you sooooo much\ud83d\udc8d\ud83d\udc70\ud83c\udffd\ud83e\udd35!!! #happiness #ido. \u2764\ufe0f\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n Roccuzzo and Messi share three children<\/a>: Thiago, born in 2012; Mateo, born in 2015; and Ciro, born in 2018.<\/p>\n Despite Messi\u2019s global fame, Roccuzzo has said their family life revolves around routine.<\/p>\n \u201cWe love our routine,\u201d she told Grazia<\/em><\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s very important for our family, the structure.\u201d<\/p>\n She explained that their days typically begin with taking the boys to school before she fits in workouts, meetings, errands, or photoshoots while they\u2019re in class.<\/p>\n \u201cThen just picking up the kids and going to all soccer activities or after-school activities. Then having dinner and going to bed,\u201d she said. \u201cWe are like a normal family.\u201d<\/p>\n Although Roccuzzo\u2019s career has continued to grow, she says motherhood comes first.<\/p>\n \u201cMy kids are my number one priority,\u201d she told ELLE. \u201cAnd now, I\u2019m in a position to start doing things for myself.\u201d<\/p>\n Finding that balance hasn\u2019t always been easy, but she credits Messi with encouraging her to pursue opportunities outside the home.<\/p>\n \u201cI have my husband\u2019s support, and that is very important,\u201d she said. \u201cIf I didn\u2019t have that support, I don\u2019t think I would be fully doing this.\u201d<\/p>\n Messi has also spoken publicly about his admiration for his wife. During a 2019 interview with Marca<\/em><\/a>, he said, \u201cShe has many good qualities: how she gets by on a daily basis; her personality; she is always in a good mood; and she always faces up to problems in an admirable way. She is a very intelligent person who is great in all aspects of life.\u201d<\/p>\n Roccuzzo has also made charitable work an important part of her career.<\/p>\n She told Grazia<\/em> she tries to connect many of her collaborations to charitable initiatives and is especially passionate about supporting children and women.<\/p>\n Among the organizations she\u2019s worked with are Equality Now<\/a> and Argentina\u2019s Estudiar es Mejor foundation<\/a>, which helps expand access to education.<\/p>\n \u201cI always care a lot about kids, especially kids and women,\u201d she told the magazine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
