Homelessness is not the fault of the individual but the \u201csystems\u201d that fail them, the Prince of Wales will say on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The Prince, who is marking three years of his Homewards project<\/a>, will say that research now shows it is possible to end homelessness.<\/p>\n

\u201cHomelessness is not an individual failure; it is a systemic failure. And, if systems help create the problem, then systems can help prevent it,\u201d he will say.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy trialling new approaches, Homewards is demonstrating how prevention can be embedded across every part of our society.<\/p>\n

\u201cProving that our true strength emerges not in isolation, but in a shared purpose that makes us greater than the sum of our parts.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2023, the Prince launched his Homewards project<\/a> with the aim of making homelessness \u201crare, brief and unrepeated\u201d.<\/p>\n

Hazel Detsiny, the executive director for homelessness at the Royal Foundation, said they were now seeing \u201cgreen shoots and clear evidence of what works in practice to prevent homelessness\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Prince has previously told how visiting homeless shelters with his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, left a deep and lasting impression on him as a child. He has recently taken Prince George of Wales on similar engagements<\/a>, including to The Passage, where they helped serve Christmas dinner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
