Katy Perry has been dealt a major career blow after her latest comeback single failed to chart in the Top 100 literally anywhere in the world; not even one country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Watch It Burn<\/span>, the pop rock infused single hasn\u2019t made the impact on charts that Perry would have hoped. <\/p>\n The high-budget glossy video sees Perry wreaking havoc as a monstrous scorpion-human hybrid as she puts a match to her past relationships and paves the way for a new beginning. <\/p>\n While it\u2019s undeniably catchy, and certainly a return to form following the much-maligned Woman\u2019s World<\/span>, sadly signs are suggesting it\u2019s too little too late for the star once thought of as pop royalty. <\/p>\n The single failed to hit any of Spotify\u2019s Top 100 charts around the world during its first full day, and in fact only managed to chart on two in total; #123 in Brazil and #176 in Portugal. <\/p>\n MORE: Perry makes unexpected move<\/a><\/p>\n Social media rushed to comment on the latest chart news, with one commenting on Reddit: \u201cIt\u2019s hard for an astronaut to switch careers into the music biz,\u201d referencing Perry\u2019s short-lived trip to space. <\/p>\n A second referenced the inevitable backlash to Perry\u2019s previous comeback single<\/a>, Woman\u2019s World<\/span>, produced by Dr Luke. <\/p>\n \u201cThe song all but killed her anticipated comeback to the charts upon its release.\u201d<\/p>\n One fan said it\u2019s time for the star to take some time off so people can miss her, adding: \u201cIt was actually one of the better songs in years, but what she needs to do is seriously take a break after everything that\u2019s happened the last couple of years.\u201d<\/p>\n In another blow for Perry, her latest performance at a Belgian festival was cancelled due to a \u201cgovernment mandate\u201d because of concerns over bad weather<\/a> and crowd safety.<\/p>\n
