Princess Kate climbed the three highest peaks in the United Kingdom in under 24 hours over the weekend, accomplishing the feat to raise money for a cancer charity.<\/p>\n
The Princess of Wales took on the Three Peaks Challenge \u2014 Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon \u2014 just over one year after she announced that she was in remission from cancer, The Guardian reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI have taken on the National Three Peaks Challenge, not simply as a physical endeavour but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back,\u201d the princess wrote on social media<\/a>. \u201cThe Royal Marsden (Cancer Charity) is a place that holds great meaning for me and whose care and expertise are life changing for so many people.<\/p>\n \u201cThrough this challenge, I want to raise awareness for the deeper impact of serious illness and the importance of holistic healthcare. Every individual is different, and ensuring there is a whole person approach to care enables those living through cancer to manage the deeply personal challenge of diagnosis.\u201d<\/p>\n To complete the challenge, Princess Kate, 44, climbed 23 miles solo across the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales, ABC News reports<\/a>.
