After Jon Gosselin<\/strong> and Kate Gosselin<\/strong> of Jon & Kate Plus 8<\/em> fame split in December 2009, the reality TV couple entered into a contentious custody battle that ended with two of their eight children staying with Jon, while the remaining six children lived with their mom, Kate.<\/p>\n

Collin<\/strong> and Hannah Gosselin<\/strong> \u2014 two of the former couple\u2019s sextuplets \u2014 remained in Jon\u2019s custody in the wake of the couple\u2019s split after 10 years of marriage. While the siblings were at one time close, Hannah\u2019s decision to eventually repair her relationship<\/a> with her mom \u201churt\u201d Collin.<\/p>\n

\u201cI even look back at it like this \u2014 during my parents\u2019 divorce Hannah was always so much closer with my dad,\u201d Collin said in a 2025 interview with The Sun<\/em>. \u201cBut now that I look at it I don\u2019t think that it was that she was closer with my dad, I think she just wanted both parents in her life. And it makes a lot of sense and that literally is normal \u2014 that\u2019s a normal thing kids want that.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the siblings have continued to navigate the fallout of their complicated family issues in their own ways, they have also worked to support each other.<\/p>\n

Collin and Hannah Moved in With Dad Jon<\/h2>\n

Jon and Kate welcomed twins Mady and Cara in 2000, then sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Alexis, Joel, Leah and Aaden in 2004. The clan became reality TV royalty on Jon & Kate Plus 8<\/em>, but the fairytale imploded when Kate filed for divorce in 2009 and was initially awarded full legal custody of all eight kids.<\/p>\n

The turning point came in 2016, when Kate sent Collin to the Fairmont Behavioral Health Institute, citing behavioral issues. Collin reached out to Jon the following year, who helped him exit the facility.<\/p>\n

In December 2018, Jon was awarded sole legal and physical custody<\/a> of Collin after Kate and her lawyer failed to appear in court. Hannah joined the household around the same time, eventually moving to Pennsylvania with Jon.<\/p>\n

Collin Calls Sister Hannah His \u2018Emotional Support\u2019<\/h2>\n

While Collin has been estranged from his six other siblings for years, Hannah has remained his rock. In a November 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight<\/em>, Collin got emotional when describing their connection.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would do anything for my sister. We don\u2019t call [each other] much because \u2026 she has better things to do than call me, but whenever she does reach out, it makes my day. I love her to death,\u201d Collin said. \u201cHannah, she\u2019s a big part of my emotional support. She helped me out a lot and still does to this day. [She] still does so much for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, Collin told the outlet<\/a> he hadn\u2019t spoken to Mady, Cara, Alexis, Joel, Leah or Aaden in \u201cprobably five or six years.\u201d<\/p>\n

A source separately told Us<\/em> in April 2022 that Hannah was holding out hope for a reunion.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer leaving to go live with Jon had absolutely nothing to do with her brothers and sisters,\u201d the insider said. \u201cShe loves them to death.\u201d<\/p>\n

Collin Says Hannah\u2019s Bond With Mom Kate Gosselin \u2018Hurts\u2019<\/h2>\n

In an interview originally conducted for The Sun<\/em> and reshared on YouTube in June 2026, Collin opened up about Hannah\u2019s efforts to mend things with Kate.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think [my sister] Hannah [Gosselin] is very sentimental and reminiscent, in a way, and I think she wants to still have a piece of that family,\u201d he said, reflecting that during their parents\u2019 divorce Hannah just \u201cwanted both parents in her life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNow that she\u2019s with my dad and she knows that my dad loves her and he\u2019s never gonna leave her or throw her out on a limb or anything like that, I think she wants to now fix that relationship with my mom,\u201d Collin continued. \u201cWhat hurts me on that is that Hannah wants to fix the relationship with my mom \u2014 Hannah wants to get into the emotional and the feelings part of it because she cares about people.\u201d<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t hold back on how he thinks Kate is handling the reconciliation.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor my mom, it\u2019s going on social media. It\u2019s going on TikTok and saying, \u2018Oh, hi, just talked to Hannah today,\u2019\u201d he continued. \u201cSo for Hannah it\u2019s a relationship, and for my mom it\u2019s a PR stunt and that\u2019s what really hurts me.\u201d<\/p>\n
