Kate Gosselin<\/strong><\/a> is speaking out after estranged son Collin Gosselin<\/strong><\/a> once again accused her of childhood abuse.<\/p>\n In a Saturday, June 27, interview with the StrangeMcKnights YouTube channel<\/a>, Collin, 22, made allegations of childhood mistreatment at the hands of his mom and invited Kate, 51, to undergo a lie detector test over his claims.<\/p>\n On Monday, June 29, Kate, 51, responded to fans in the comments section of a new TikTok<\/a> video documenting life with her rescue dog, Koda. While the former reality television star didn\u2019t discuss Collin\u2019s claims in the video, she was nonetheless inundated with questions about her son.<\/p>\n One person wrote, \u201cIf you are 100% certain that the accusations against you are lies, my suggestion would be to take him to court and sue him for defamation!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t bc I\u2019m a public figure. Rules are different unfortunately. Or I def would!\u201d Kate responded.<\/p>\n She added in a follow-up comment, \u201cThe rules are different for ppl in the public eye. I consulted a high power LA attorney (you\u2019ve definitely heard of him) years ago when other ppl were putting crazy stuff out there and that\u2019s what he said. The courts don\u2019t honor it if you\u2019re in the public eye :(.\u201d<\/p>\n Kate and ex-husband Jon Gosselin<\/strong> shot to fame on TLC\u2019s reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8<\/em> \u2014 later retitled Kate Plus 8<\/em> following their divorce \u2014 which aired from 2007 to 2017. The show documented the couple\u2019s lives with their eight children: twins Mady<\/strong> and Cara<\/strong>, now 25, and sextuplets Collin<\/strong>, Hannah<\/strong>, Alexis<\/strong>, Leah<\/strong>, Joel<\/strong> and Aaden<\/strong>, all 22.<\/p>\n In 2024, Collin detailed allegations of childhood abuse<\/a> against his mother in an interview with the U.K.\u2019s The Sun<\/em> newspaper. Kate\u2019s attorney told Fox News<\/a> at the time that she would not be commenting on the claims.<\/p>\n \u201cShe doesn\u2019t want to comment. Doesn\u2019t need to. The record speaks for itself,\u201d her attorney told the outlet.<\/p>\n Earlier in June, Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively revealed the cover of Collin\u2019s upcoming memoir<\/a> about growing up in the public eye, titled In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood<\/em>.<\/p>\n
