Here\u2019s a sampling of what\u2019s on tap in July. \u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Beacon<\/h2>\n<p>A new series just kicked off at The Beacon: \u201cBase Metals, Pure Gold: The Scores of Ennio Morricone,\u201d featuring a variety of films scored by one of the all-time great film composers. Among these: the Westerns \u201c<strong>The Big Gundown<\/strong>\u201d (July 4, 7), \u201c<strong>The Good, the Bad and the Ugly<\/strong>\u201d (July 6, 8, 9), \u201c<strong>Death Rides a Horse<\/strong>\u201d (July 15-16), \u201c<strong>The Mercenary<\/strong>\u201d (July 16), \u201c<strong>Once Upon a Time in the West<\/strong>\u201d (July 29-30); the heist drama \u201c<strong>The Sicilian Clan<\/strong>\u201d (July 31); and the Italian horror film \u201c<strong>A Lizard in a Woman\u2019s Skin<\/strong>\u201d (July 31-Aug. 1). Martin Scorsese&#8217;s &#8220;<strong>Cape Fear<\/strong>,&#8221; should you wish to compare it to the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/entertainment\/tv\/cape-fear-review-apple-tv-adaptation-stretches-itself-too-thin\/\">current lurid Apple TV adaptation<\/a>, screens July 4-5. SIFF Cinema Uptown celebrates Art House Theater Day with three days of special screenings: the Irish drama <strong>\u201cOnce Upon a Time in a Cinema<\/strong>\u201d and Boots Riley\u2019s \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/entertainment\/movies\/sorry-to-bother-you-a-fearless-satire-on-race-and-the-ultimate-sellout\/\"><strong>Sorry to Bother You<\/strong><\/a>\u201d on July 30, Sidney Lumet\u2019s \u201c<strong>Network<\/strong>\u201d on Aug. 1 and \u201c<strong>Car Wash<\/strong>\u201d with Richard Pryor on Aug. 2 \u2014 the latter two films both celebrating their 50<sup>th<\/sup> anniversaries.
