Former Love Island UK<\/em><\/a> host Caroline Flack<\/strong>\u2018s brother, Paul Flack<\/strong>, has died at age 55, six years after her own death<\/a> by suicide.<\/p>\n

Paul was found unresponsive at his home in England on June 21. He was taken to the hospital before being pronounced dead, according to reports from multiple outlets. Following a provisional post-mortem exam, Paul is believed to have died by suicide.<\/p>\n

People confirmed that a hearing into Paul\u2019s death was opened on Monday, June 29, according to Norfolk Coroner\u2019s Court, and another is set for October 23.<\/p>\n

Paul, who is survived by his partner and two children, died six years after Caroline\u2019s death at age 40.<\/a><\/p>\n

Love Island, which premiered in the U.K. in 2002, follows a different group of singles every season who pair off in order to stay in the show\u2019s luxury villa. The franchise has since expanded worldwide, with [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Caroline got her start as an actress in the U.K. before transitioning to a presenter with projects such as I\u2019m a Celebrity \u2026 Get Me Out of Here!<\/em> and The Xtra Factor<\/em>. Caroline won season 12 of BBC\u2019s Strictly Come Dancing<\/em> and subsequently became the host of The X Factor <\/em>and Love Island UK<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Off screen, Caroline made headlines when she started dating Prince Harry<\/strong> in 2009, and again in 2021 when she dated Harry Styles<\/strong>. She was also linked to Jack Street, Andrew Brady<\/strong> and Danny Cipriani<\/strong> before finding love with Lewis Burton.<\/p>\n

Caroline was ultimately arrested in 2019<\/a> for allegedly assaulting Burton. She pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on bail, with the condition that she not contact Burton. Caroline was due to stand trial despite denials from both her and Burton that she physically harmed him.<\/p>\n

As the Crown Prosecution Service \u2014 who is responsible for all criminal prosecutions in England and Wales \u2014 pursued the case, Caroline stepped down as host of Love Island UK. She died by suicide in 2020 after learning the case would go to trial.<\/p>\n
