Blake Lively<\/a> initially seemed ready to move on from her legal battle with her It Ends With Us <\/em>director and co-star Justin Baldoni<\/a>. However, the actress has now reignited the dispute with a significant new demand.<\/p>\n

According to People<\/a><\/em>, Lively submitted a request on Monday, June 29, demanding $8.04 million in legal fees and over $539,000 in litigation costs from Baldoni after his defamation lawsuit against her was thrown out. In the filing obtained by People<\/em>, Lively\u2019s legal team argued that the effort required to defeat Baldoni\u2019s suit was \u201ccomprehensive and necessary to achieve the complete win that was secured.\u201d<\/p>\n

They added that Lively \u201chas paid, and continues to pay\u201d her own legal bills, and that she will seek \u201cany additional attorneys\u2019 fees\u201d she racks up while pursuing the fee request.<\/p>\n

Lively\u2019s latest filing attributes the substantial costs to the case\u2019s high profile, citing \u201csignificant press attention, with thousands of indexed and syndicated media articles.\u201d They also pointed to extensive discovery, including \u201cmore than 7,000 documents\u201d from Lively and \u201ctens of thousands more from the Wayfarer parties and third parties.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite Lively specifying the amount she believes she\u2019s owed, the war is far from over. Judge Lewis J. Liman has reportedly ordered Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios to respond to Lively\u2019s request by July 13. The judge will then decide \u201cwhether to award the full amount, reduce it, or deny portions of the request altogether.\u201d<\/p>\n
