The King might be dusting off the fine china for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex\u2019s<\/a> return to the UK, but the Prince of Wales<\/a>\u2019 door is firmly bolted shut, royal insiders reveal.<\/p>\n

Last week, news broke that Charles<\/a>, 77, is \u201chappy\u201d about Prince Harry and Meghan\u2019s impending visit to Britain, seeing it as a chance to reconnect with his two grandchildren, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, whom he hasn\u2019t seen in four years.<\/p>\n

In a surprising U-turn, the monarch is even reportedly footing the bill for the family\u2019s trip, including security, as well as offering them a royal residence to stay in while Harry celebrates One Year To Go Invictus<\/a> events in Birmingham next month.<\/p>\n

But these details \u2013 and reports Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, plan to bring a documentary crew with them \u2013 are said to have left his estranged brother William, 44, \u201cinfuriated\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam is so appalled by what he sees as his father\u2019s betrayal that he refused to join a customary family lunch after Trooping the Colour, leaving the celebrations with his wife Catherine and his three children immediately after the Royal Air Force flypast,\u201d claims royal correspondent Tom Sykes, adding that the hot-headed heir has allegedly threatened to \u201cboycott Sandringham\u201d after \u201clearning of Meghan\u2019s triumphant imminent return to the UK on the arm of Prince Harry\u201d.<\/p>\n

A royal return<\/h2>\n

Adding to William\u2019s woes, Charles is thought to have offered up family accommodation at either Buckingham Palace or \u2013 in what William deems as an even bigger slight \u2013 Princess Diana\u2019s childhood home Althorp House.<\/p>\n

The estate is an hour from Birmingham, where Invictus is held, and is mysteriously closed for visitors on 10 and 11 July.<\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam was already worried sick about Charles being played, but hearing Harry and Meghan might be bringing a film crew along has made his blood boil,\u201d a royal insider tells us.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s incredibly frustrating to watch helplessly as his father lines himself up for more disappointment, hurt and possibly even betrayal. \u201cWhat\u2019s worse is Charles offered them Princess Diana\u2019s old residence and it\u2019s completely irked William. Privately, he and Kate have talked about Meghan\u2019s apparent obsession with his late mum \u2013 from her wardrobe to reportedly taking selfies in the Paris tunnel. \u201cThe thought of her staying in his mum\u2019s old house with a film crew, knowing they could be making a documentary for Netflix, is keeping him awake at night.\u201d<\/p>\n

It looks like Harry\u2019s visit could be the first of many, with palace sources revealing that while the couple aren\u2019t currently house-hunting in the UK, the prince sees this trip as a test for a more permanent return to his homeland.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, as Wills continues to spiral, the Princess of Wales, 44, is doing her best to calm him.<\/p>\n

\u201cKate is urging William to avoid the Sussex show as much as he can, but he\u2019ll be biting his tongue if Meghan starts lording it over everyone while she\u2019s here,\u201d our insider tells.<\/p>\n

\u201cWilliam is far from alone in wanting to keep Meghan away from the royal homes and families, but not so Archie and Lilibet. Probably the most aggravating part for William, who reacts badly to manipulation, is he\u2019s as keen to see his niece and nephew as their grandfather is \u2013 and Meghan jolly well knows it.\u201d<\/p>\n
