Over the weekend, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor\u2014formerly Prince Andrew\u2014made his first public appearance since his February arrest<\/a> to support his sister-in-law Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh at the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials, which took place on King Charles\u2019s estate<\/a>. Andrew was joined by his younger brother, Prince Edward, as Sophie competed in the \u201cSanDrivingHam Challenge,\u201d a carriage driving competition.<\/p>\n

The Sun<\/em> reported<\/a> Andrew \u201cwas spotted driving his Land Rover Defender away from the annual event where sister-in-law Sophie competed on Sunday. Onlookers said he kept a low profile as the Duchess of Edinburgh competed in the morning but was spotted leaving moments after she finished. It is believed he joined the crowds in the sunshine to give her moral support. It is thought he watched the competition away from the main arena in a secluded area under the cover of trees.\u201d<\/p>\n

An onlooker told the publication, \u201cAndrew sneaked in and sneaked out and definitely didn\u2019t want to be seen. But I saw Andrew leave the field at 10.30am, just after Sophie had ridden her round, then I saw Edward walking towards his car smiling shortly afterwards.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrew currently lives<\/a> at Marsh Farm<\/a>, a five-bedroom house on the Sandringham Estate<\/a>. He was evicted from Royal Lodge<\/a> near Windsor Castle this past fall. \u201cHis lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence,\u201d Buckingham Palace said in a statement in October<\/a>. \u201cFormal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.\u201d<\/p>\n

In February, the former prince moved to Wood Farm<\/a>, also located on the Sandringham Estate. It was at Wood Farm where he was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office<\/a>, and he remains under investigation<\/a>. (He has always denied any wrongdoing.)<\/p>\n

Prince Edward was reportedly the first royal to see Andrew after his arrest; he visited him over Easter weekend. Though King Charles has been at Sandringham<\/a>, he has reportedly not seen his brother.<\/p>\n
