Luca Guadagnino\u2019s OpenAI<\/a> movie Artificial<\/em> may have been dropped by Amazon MGM Studios<\/a>, but it has a new home.<\/p>\n

According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>, Neon has picked up the film, which stars Andrew Garfield as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman<\/a>. It’s set in the company’s turbulent 2023, when Altman was fired from OpenAI<\/a> and rehired<\/a> days later.<\/p>\n

Amazon pulled out of the film’s production<\/a> in June, with the decision reportedly made<\/a> by Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios chief Mike Hopkins after $40 million had already been spent on it. Months earlier in February, Amazon announced<\/a> a $50 billion investment in OpenAI, with the partnership to see Amazon Web Services as core infrastructure<\/a> for OpenAI.<\/p>\n

According to THR<\/em><\/a>, Neon picked up Artificial<\/em> after studios including A24, Focus Features, and Netflix passed.<\/p>\n
