There have been many broadcasts where Maggie Raworth has been make-up free, because hazardous natural disasters like fire and floods don\u2019t wait for any glam.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No one cared to comment on her appearance then. But when the journalist sat down barefaced to interview Australian photographer Cait Miers barefaced, viewers had a lot to say.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The segment was to shed light on Cait\u2019s \u2018Laugh Lines Project<\/a>\u2019, a global portrait campaign challenging traditional beauty standards by capturing 1000 women barefaced.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It all began when Cait listened to countless women \u201capologise for their faces.\u201d Now, she is on a mission to show all the \u201ccracks\u201d and the \u201ccreases.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ahead of time, Maggie promoted the interview on Instagram and the support has been overwhelming. Followers called Maggie an inspiration, either for themselves or for young women who will no doubt feel the pressure of beauty standards soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite the love, Maggie believes her barefaced moment shouldn\u2019t be a \u201cbig deal,\u201d as she told nine.com.au. She is right, this should be the norm. However, we just aren\u2019t at this stage yet because of spaces like social media breeding the need for perfectionism.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She is not the first to forefront this ideal, and she won\u2019t be the last.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Many celebrities are embracing their natural features on camera, including Pamela Anderson<\/a> and Alicia Keys.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hitting closer to home, former actress and model now farmer, Rachel Ward unintentionally ignited her own movement against aging and beauty after online trolls cruelly picked her apart. This occurred after Rachel posted a video in December 2025 from her farm \u2013 no makeup or filters.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy are we giving ourselves these expectations to maintain youth, and what is perceived as attractive? It\u2019s so great to not weigh into that anymore,\u201d Rachel told The Weekly.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe if I was 40, I would mind the comments, but now I\u2019ve so left any kind of attachment to youth and beauty behind\u2026 It doesn\u2019t touch me because it\u2019s not important anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following in her footsteps was Packed to the Rafters actress Rebecca Gibney<\/a>, 61, who shared her \u2018reality\u2019 after scrolling through \u201cperfect photoshopped\u201d images on social media.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cScrolling [through] social media all I see is bad news, AI rubbish or perfect photoshopped lives. Then I came to images of @rachelwardofficial and I breathed a sigh of relief,\u201d Rebecca wrote.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve followed Rachel for a while and @thegoodfarm.shop and it\u2019s just so lovely to see real faces and real lives so I thought I might add my unfiltered sun damaged face and my funny old cowl lick fringe and fine over processed hair to the mix.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not long after that, former Home and Away star Debra Lawrence, 69, shared her unfiltered and make-up free selfie.<\/p>\n
