Everything is nearly always falling apart when the next new low plays, but somehow the well-crafted songs save us and we all leave with a comfortable glow. the next new low refers to the journey from a terminal diagnosis to its inevitable end. A lot of the songs directly reference this journey and its aftermath but don\u2019t be misled. The music is a celebration of life, where humour, pathos and wit abound.<\/p>\n
In the 90s the next new low fronted the now legendary Dublin band the Idiots. On his record label \u2018trust me i\u2019m a thief\u2019 he released artists such as Jape, The Redneck Manifesto, Si Schroeder and Beautiful Unit.<\/p>\n
the next new low first vinyl record \u2018the unreachable\u2019 was released September 2025 a 6 track lo-fi gem, recorded at home with casio mt-70 keyboards and guitars. It is a natural progression from trauma to grief to the glimmers of hope and positivity.<\/p>\n
Contributions from Conor O\u2019Brien (flugelhorn ), Lizzi Murtough (cello) and James Smith (guitar) make this a delightful sonic journey.<\/p>\n
September 8th 2026 sees the release of the first full-length album \u201cbye bye bi polar polarbear\u201d, A collection of studio recordings carefully selected from the countless songs recorded over a ten year period.<\/p>\n
