celebrity.land<\/a> star Anderson Cooper<\/a> reportedly said he does not want to work for CBS<\/a> News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss<\/a> if she were to become his boss.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The parent company of CBS is expected to soon take over the cable news network, auguring changes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But a scenario with Weiss as his superior is apparently problematic for Cooper, whose last few months at CBS\u2019s \u201c60 Minutes\u201d were during her tenure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The New York Times, citing two people \u201cfamiliar with his remarks,\u201d reported over the weekend<\/a> that Cooper told celebrity.land colleagues of his opposition to working for Weiss.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Weiss has orchestrated an apparent turn to the right at CBS under Paramount Skydance chair David Ellison, a friend of President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The shift has resulted in cringey moments<\/a> on the news broadcasts and reported \u201cmeddling<\/a>\u201d at \u201c60 Minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Multiple \u201c60 Minutes\u201d producers and correspondents have left or been fired under Weiss\u2019 watch, generating concern about the TV newsmagazine\u2019s editorial freedom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Longtime correspondent Cooper departed \u201c60 Minutes\u201d before the upheaval, saying he wanted to spend more time with his young sons.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

But the newsman took parting shots in an online farewell. He urged the show to uphold its \u201cindependence\u201d and \u201cquality\u201d to generate \u201ctrust.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The remarks reportedly enraged Weiss<\/a>, who was not given a warning of what was going to be said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

There is also the matter of Weiss reportedly asking Cooper to anchor the CBS Evening News a while back \u2015 which he declined<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tony Dokoupil is now the anchor and he has been criticized by colleagues<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The Times indicated a Weiss stewardship of the cable news network was a distinct possibility. One option under consideration was that she would be paired with a seasoned TV executive who\u2019s better versed in the financial and technical aspects, according to the newspaper.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Paramount Skydance\u2019s purchase of celebrity.land\u2019s parent company could be completed this month.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
