James Ransone<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s medical report reveals new information surrounding the actor\u2019s shocking death by suicide.<\/p>\n

According to the medical report, obtained by Us Weekly<\/em> on Wednesday, July 1, Ransone \u201chad a medical history of mental health issues<\/a> and suicidal ideations\u201d prior to his death in December 2025 at the age of 46<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The medical examiner\u2019s office also revealed that there were \u201cprescription medications found at the scene,\u201d but there was \u201cno drug paraphernalia and no note found at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the \u201cscene description\u201d box, authorities noted, \u201cThere were multiple prescription medications labeled, \u2018diazepam, hydroxyzine, and trazodone\u2019 found at the scene.\u201d As the medical examiner\u2019s office indicated, Ransone did not leave a note or message before his death.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJames Ransone\u2019s wife, Jamie McPhee, broke her silence after the actor\u2019s death at the age of 46. The Wire and It: Chapter Two actor died by suicide on Friday, December 19, per County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner records viewed by Us Weekly. Ransone leaves behind his wife, McPhee, and their two children: son Jack, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The toxicology report revealed that despite finding prescription meds on scene, Ransone\u2019s body was free of the drugs they tested for one day after his death.<\/p>\n

The examiner\u2019s findings showed that although a preliminary test for benzodiazepines a.k.a. Benzos presented a \u201cpresumptive positive\u201d result, when a second test was conducted the drug was \u201cnot detected.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ransone was tested for several other drugs, including cocaine, metabolites, fentanyl, methamphetamine and MDMA, all of which were not detected.<\/p>\n

Opiates codeine and morphine as well as opiates hydrocodone and hydromorphone phencyclidine were also not found in his system.<\/p>\n

The Wire<\/em> actor was also tested for alcohol, which was not detected in his blood, per the report.<\/p>\n

The medical examiner\u2019s report included information from the police and the witness statement, who in Ransone\u2019s case was his brother.<\/p>\n

According to his brother, Ransone had a \u201chistory of suicidal ideations and no prior attempts\u201d to take his own life before December 2025.<\/p>\n

The file also stated that the decedent \u201crecently mentioned he needed to go to the hospital to receive treatment for unspecified mental health issues,\u201d per his brother\u2019s statement to authorities.<\/p>\n

News broke in December 2025 that the It: Chapter Two<\/em> actor<\/a> had died after he was found unresponsive in a shed. Records viewed by Us<\/em> at the time confirmed that The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled the death an apparent suicide.<\/p>\n

Ransone\u2019s official cause of death was listed as suicide on his death certificate, which Us<\/em> viewed<\/a> in early January.<\/p>\n

Ransone is survived by his wife, Jamie McPhee<\/strong>, and their two children, Jack and Violet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Two months after his death, Us<\/em> confirmed that McPhee filed a property petition in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
