Cardarelli posted several photos showing herself in a hospital as part of what she called the &#8220;first big step&#8221; in her treatment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now it&#8217;s time to heal while we wait for the next step in my treatment plan,&#8221; <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaDj31lFIeQ\/?hl=en&amp;img_index=1\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">she captioned the photos<\/a>. &#8220;Thank you to the incredible team at Dana-Farber for your kindness, compassion, and support throughout such a challenging and stressful process. I&#8217;m truly so grateful to be in your care.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She added, &#8220;Thank you to everyone who has prayed for me, checked in, and lifted me up.\u00a0One day at a time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/jillian-cardarelli-reveals-breast-cancer-diagnosis-exclusive-11994219\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">People magazine<\/a> published June 10, Cardarelli said she was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma in May, which she said led to immediate and dramatic changes to her day-to-day life.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One minute you&#8217;re focused on filming schedules, scripts, music and everything,&#8221; she said. &#8220;And the next thing is doctors, scans, pathology reports and words I&#8217;d never even \u2026 I feel like I&#8217;m learning a new language.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"related-link\"><span class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\"><strong style=\"margin-right:3px\">After her cancer misdiagnosis, <\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/life\/health-wellness\/2026\/04\/20\/lucy-liu-breast-cancer-misdiagnosis-surgery-early-screening\/89698319007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Lucy Liu advocates for early screening<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/my.clevelandclinic.org\/health\/diseases\/22117-invasive-ductal-carcinoma-idc\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">According to the Cleveland Clinic<\/a>, invasive ductal carcinoma makes up roughly 80% of\u00a0breast cancer\u00a0cases among women, and it&#8217;s often detected in\u00a0mammograms\u00a0before symptoms are noticeable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"related-link\"><span class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\"><strong style=\"margin-right:3px\">A triple negative breast cancer <\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/life\/health-wellness\/2026\/06\/08\/lgbtq-breast-cancer\/90042390007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">diagnosis, and the queer affirmation that kept her going<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Who is Jillian Cardarelli? Country music singer speaks out<\/h2>\n<p>Cardarelli also shared some of the early warning signs, telling People magazine that she &#8220;felt something a little different&#8221; and &#8220;was a little more tired&#8221; before she felt a lump in her breast and subsequently received her diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I feel fear and sadness,&#8221; she said in the People interview. &#8220;I&#8217;m like, why did this happen? I do not fit the profile of somebody that should get cancer at 33 years old. So yes, there&#8217;s a little bit of anger there. But I&#8217;m not angry at God.
