his 2025 Us Weekly <\/i>cover story<\/span><\/a>, Frankie got candid about the challenges of balancing his relationship with his career.<\/p>\n\u201cThis season\u2019s been really tough. We had a lot of bad luck. Eight races in a row, we didn\u2019t finish because of things out of the team\u2019s control, and it kills you, confidence-wise,\u201d he told Us <\/i>in September 2025 of his racing career. \u201cI come home and I\u2019m sad, you know, even though I\u2019m fulfilling my dream, and I\u2019m so lucky, but it\u2019s because I\u2019m so passionate, I want it so badly that it makes you sad, it makes you upset, it makes you angry, you know? And there\u2019s a fine line of bringing that home, bringing that passion right to your family, and balancing all of that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Frankie explained that he returned to the racetrack to inspire Mauz after \u201cunfinished business.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201c[2024] was rough. This year has not necessarily gone to plan, but I say I am doing it for my family, but it\u2019s 100 percent taking me away from my family,\u201d he admitted. \u201cI\u2019ve been home 17 days this year. \u2026 You put in the work, you put in the time. I\u2019m away from my family. I\u2019m sacrificing so much.\u201d<\/p>\n
He further admitted that he hadn\u2019t \u201cquite figured\u201d out how to balance his work schedule with his family commitments.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is not just the racing. It\u2019s just like I\u2019m 100 percent exhausted right now,\u201d he told Us. <\/em>\u201cSo, I question whether or not I\u2019m putting 100 percent into things, because if I only have 70 percent to give because I\u2019m exhausted, because I\u2019m doing too much, there\u2019s that fine line. I\u2019m trying to figure out that balance.\u201d<\/p>\nA Change in Plans<\/b><\/h2>\n
While speaking with Us <\/i>in summer 2025, Frankie acknowledged that his next year would look different because of Paige.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think I know what I\u2019m gonna be doing. A lot of discussion with my wife, because to be honest, it\u2019s not what my wife signed up for,\u201d he said. \u201cIf I\u2019m being 100 percent honest, she didn\u2019t marry a race car driver at the time. I wasn\u2019t on the road 300 days a year. And making sure that I\u2019m there for her, I\u2019m there for my son, but also doing the things that I need to do in my life or I want to do in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Life Behind the Scenes<\/h2>\n
During Us Weekly<\/em>\u2018s 2025 cover interview, Frankie also revealed he had been documenting the unfiltered reality of life behind the scenes in racing.<\/p>\n\u201cWe were filming more of a documentary [of] the racing world. And we stopped for a bit because I wanted to make sure that\u2026 it was real, [that] it wasn\u2019t what we wanted to be shown\u2026 The whole life aspect of it, everything,\u201d he said. \u201cI feel like it\u2019s unfair for people to only see the successes, you know, or the happy times because there\u2019s been a lot of tears shed over the last couple of years of just trying to make things happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think people have any idea what it\u2019s truly like,\u201d Frankie added. They see the glitz and glamour of the things I\u2019m doing but none of the real life reality of the things I\u2019m doing.<\/p>\n
Frankie also said his wife was on board.<\/p>\n
\u201c[My wife] doesn\u2019t wanna be known. Some people want that, want cameras. I think she wants [a documentary] because she wants people to truly see what it\u2019s really like,\u201d he continued. \u201cI try to explain to [my mom] what my week is like and she\u2019s like it doesn\u2019t even sound real. There\u2019s no way that you could have that many amazing things and that many negative things. I\u2019m sitting here about to return this rental car at the airport [and] I might get to eat before I get on the plane,\u201d Frankie added with a laugh. \u201cThat\u2019s my normal day. There\u2019s no downtime.\u201d<\/p>\n
TV Stardom and Hard Work<\/h2>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s obviously some amazing things that come along with it, but in the end, it\u2019s work,\u201d Frankie told Us in 2025 about the perks that come with being the star of one of TV\u2019s biggest hits and working hard. \u201cThere\u2019s so much negative that comes with it too that people don\u2019t necessarily see or talk about. And you sound like you\u2019re whining if you complain about the negative. Does that make sense? Like, you got all this stuff, how could you complain?<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you interviewed my wife as an outsider, who came into my life, post the [TV] show, didn\u2019t grow up with it, didn\u2019t grow up with me being on the show, all that kind of stuff. But she knows the true authentic me. She knows what the struggles are on a daily basis or the positives or the good, the bad and all that kind of stuff. I think she would have a much different story to tell. What people think her life must be like, because she\u2019s married to me now, is not probably the life that if she explained her life that people would think is what she would say.<\/p>\n
Frankie revealed that doing it all takes \u201ca lot of work.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a lot of work,\u201d he continued during the interview. \u201cWe talk about it all the time. We\u2019ve been together [for] 10 years now. We go like, \u2018Do you remember when we first met, we used to play golf? Like we used to have time to play golf. We have like an hour off. What do people do to take up time?\u2019 Because we don\u2019t normally have that. We\u2019re normally like, we gotta go here, we gotta do this, we have to do this. We gotta get this call. I got this Zoom, I got this, my son, I got a flight. It\u2019s so nonstop. She said something the other day. She\u2019s like, \u2018We have everything that we could ever ask for in life. But our friends that have nothing live much more fulfilled lives because they\u2019re not running around with their heads cut off all the time.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m enjoying my life, so don\u2019t get me wrong,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s so much all the time that it\u2019s sometimes hard to realize what you\u2019re even doing.\u201d<\/p>\n
