Giada De Laurentiis<\/a> had a sweet reaction to her daughter, Jade<\/a>, following in her culinary footsteps.<\/p>\n \u201cJade told me to open Instagram yesterday, and surprised me with a video of her cooking dinner while I was out of town,\u201d the former Food Network<\/a> star captioned a Wednesday, July 1, Instagram video<\/a>. \u201cYES we have some work to do before she goes to college, but this made my year\u2026. Proud mom. Enjoy.\u201d<\/p>\n In the clip, De Laurentiis stated, \u201cI want to share this video with you guys, \u2018cause it was completely unsolicited, and it was a huge, proud mamma moment: Jade making one of my sauces. I don\u2019t know. It just, it made my year. It\u2019s so cute, it\u2019s so cute. You guys are gonna love it. But [it\u2019s] definitely time to teach Jade a few things before she goes to college.\u201d<\/p>\n De Laurentiis\u2019s post also featured Jade\u2019s cooking video<\/a>, which she shared on Instagram on Tuesday, June 30. In the video, Jade explained that she was cooking dinner for herself and De Laurentiis\u2019 boyfriend, Shane Farley<\/a>, while her mom was out of town for her Sorella by Giada restaurant opening in Chicago.<\/p>\n\n Jade began prepping the pasta dish by peeling and chopping garlic. \u201cI don\u2019t know how to do this! I need my mom,\u201d she quipped. \u201cI just put the water on, but I gotta put the salt in. How does my mom do this?\u201d she stated, going on to add tomatoes, salt, and pepper into the sauce. \u201cI think it\u2019s really awesome that cooking comes so easily to some people. I\u2019m just not one of those people.\u201d<\/p>\n While Jade questioned how much salt she added to the dish, she was ultimately pleased with the end result. \u201cOK. It\u2019s actually not that bad. It\u2019s salty. It doesn\u2019t give tomato sauce. It kind of gives a little bit of a burnt flavor but like in a cute way,\u201d she said. \u201cHonestly, OK, it\u2019s edible, and it\u2019s not terrible. I\u2019ll take it.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans reacted to Jade\u2019s cooking skills in the post\u2019s comments, with one user writing, \u201cThis was so entertaining to watch as a professional and as a mom of young adults.
