Ashley Tisdale<\/strong><\/a> is taking her mom group drama to the small screen.<\/p>\n

Deadline<\/a><\/em> reported on Thursday, July 2, that Tisdale, 41, has teamed up with Sabrina Jalees <\/strong>and Ali Wong<\/strong> for Toxic Moms,<\/em> a comedy series that has landed at Netflix for development.<\/p>\n

Toxic Moms,<\/em> which was written by Jalees, is a half-hour series following a sleep-deprived new mom who crosses paths with a group of wealthy mothers who are revealed to have a darker side. Per Deadline<\/em>, the logline asks, \u201cIn the isolation of motherhood, how far would you go to taste community?\u201d<\/p>\n

Tisdale, who is expected to star on the show, will also executive produce alongside Jalees and Wong. Deadline<\/em> reported that Wong may direct if the comedy gets picked up to series.<\/p>\n

Tisdale made headlines in January when she published a bombshell essay with The Cut<\/em>, titled \u201cBreaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember being left out of a couple of group hangs, and I knew about them because Instagram made sure it fed me every single photo and Instagram Story,\u201d Tisdale wrote at the time. \u201cI was starting to feel frozen out of the group, noticing every way that they seemed to exclude me. \u2026 I told myself it was all in my head, and it wasn\u2019t a big deal. And yet, I could sense a growing distance between me and the other members of the group, who seemed to not even care that I wasn\u2019t around much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans quickly speculated that Mandy Moore, Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor<\/strong> and more familiar faces were part of the same friend group<\/a>. (Tisdale did not ID any individuals in the essay, with her rep stressing that those pals were not the alleged subjects.)<\/p>\n

Trainor was the first of the group to address online chatter that she was involved in Tisdale\u2019s mom group. After posting videos (with tea emojis) to her social media feed, Trainor exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> that she \u201cfelt bad\u201d for Tisdale<\/a> amid the fallout.<\/p>\n

Despite allegedly being blindsided by the essay, the remaining mom group members wish Tisdale \u201cno ill will,\u201d a source told Us<\/em> in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey believed the group was supportive and coming from a good place, and they never thought there was any bad intent behind how things played out,\u201d the insider said. \u201cThe moms insist there was no \u2018mean girl\u2019 behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n

Duff, for her part, spoke out about the drama in February. When asked about the claims that she\u2019s part of the friend group, Duff shared, \u201cThe women at school are lovely and I\u2019m obsessed with all of them.\u201d<\/p>\n
