Bringing Up Bates<\/em><\/a> star Michaela Bates Keilen<\/strong> opened up about how she deals with sibling \u201cdrama\u201d and \u201crifts\u201d in a family of 19 children.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou just love unconditionally,\u201d Bates, 36, insisted in a vlog<\/a> posted on Saturday, June 27. \u201cYou may not agree but you\u2019re friends and you\u2019re family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michaela\u2019s younger sister, Katie Bates Clark<\/strong>, recently confirmed that she has lost family relationships<\/a> over an undisclosed childhood event<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While Michaela did not directly address Katie\u2019s situation in her vlog, she spoke more broadly about how she manages disputes within the Bates clan.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBringing Up Bates star Katie Bates is seeking professional help navigating husband Travis Clark\u2018s cheating scandal. \u201cI\u2019ve wanted to come on here and say something for a while but I honestly haven\u2019t really known how to put words to any of this,\u201d Bates, 25, wrote via her Instagram Story on Sunday, February 22. \u201cThis year [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s so many things in life with family that you have different opinions or different viewpoints. I think it\u2019s one of those things where you have your family and your family is forever. \u2026 I just think, as adults, things happen. Hurts happen,\u201d she said. \u201cYou forgive. You move on. At the end of the day, you just have each other\u2019s back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her husband, Brandon Timothy Keilen<\/strong>, interjected, arguing that it becomes \u201cvery easy to get involved aggressively\u201d when family rifts pop up.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s easy to fall into that, \u201c Brandon, 36, added. \u201cI don\u2019t mean to over-spiritualize this but it doesn\u2019t hurt to pray \u2026 If I\u2019m not part of the scenario, God, give me the self-control to stay out of it because all I\u2019ll do is make it worse. That\u2019s a hard thing to do. \u2026 This is not exclusively family. Wherever there\u2019s people, you\u2019re going to have these issues. For my part, what am I supposed to be doing before God and, God, give me the grace to do what I\u2019m supposed to do or not do because I\u2019m not supposed to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michaela acknowledged how important it is for each family member to recognize that they may \u201cneed to ask forgiveness\u201d during moments of high tension.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes we say something that was misunderstood or we said something in the heat of the moment that we regret. We need to apologize,\u201d she noted. \u201cOther times, we need to give grace because someone else said something that they regret.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cFamily is a gift and for so much of my life, I just took it for granted because I had a great family and I didn\u2019t think much about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple were also asked how they were handling some family members moving out of Tennessee. (Katie and her husband, Travis Clark<\/strong>, recently moved to Texas<\/a> following Travis\u2019 cheating scandal<\/a> earlier this year.)<\/p>\n
