Kid Rock<\/a> is opening up about his long-standing friendship with President Donald Trump<\/a>, revealing that they frequently call each other to catch up\u00a0– sometimes when the musician is inebriated.<\/p>\n “It’s one of my late-night drinking tricks,” Kid Rock, the Grammy-nominated country rocker, said during a recent interview with Sky News Australia<\/a>. “I know when to get him. And he’s so gracious\u00a0–\u00a0 he always picks up, or he’ll call and check in, just to shoot the s- most of the time.”<\/p>\n The “All Summer Long” artist, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, has been friends with Trump for about a decade, and was one of the first celebrities to endorse his 2016 presidential campaign. Since then, they have been frequently spotted together playing golf and attending UFC matches.<\/p>\n “He’s not calling me, like, \u2018Hey, what should we do in Iran, Bob?’ I don’t get those calls,” Kid Rock continued. “But sitting around having some beers, it’s like 11 or 12 on a Friday or Saturday, I know he’s up. He sleeps like me – he sleeps like five hours.”<\/p>\n It seems like Kid Rock isn’t the only person that has gotten ahold of Trump’s personal line. According to the Atlantic<\/a>, the president’s phone number has been widely circulated within circles of journalists, CEOs and other major power players.<\/p>\n Though his phone calls with Trump may not be a unique experience, Kid Rock continued to gush about his relationship with the president.<\/p>\n “I enjoy the hell out of hanging out with him and talking with him and just having a front-row seat to the greatest s- show on Earth,” Rock said. “I know his heart and soul, his concern is for this country, period. This country first.”<\/p>\n Kid Rock drew attention earlier this year for headlining Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show<\/a>” on Super Bowl Sunday. The show was organized in protest of Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny<\/a>‘s official NFL halftime show performance, which took place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. Trump had widely criticized the performance by the “Tit\u00ed Me Pregunt\u00f3” singer as “un-American.”<\/p>\n Ultimately, Turning Point USA’s show, which also featured country artists Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett, drew 6.1 million concurrent viewers on YouTube<\/a>, according to the New York Times<\/a>.
