(WJW) \u2014 A country singer has opened up about a recent cancer <\/a>diagnosis.<\/p>\n

In an interview with People<\/a>, 33-year-old Jillian Cardarelli said her life has completely changed. Just a couple weeks ago, she was celebrating her five-year wedding anniversary and getting ready to start filming season 2 of the Great American Family show \u201cCrossroad Springs,\u201d when she was told she had breast cancer.<\/p>\n

Young people see rising cancer rates in Northeast Ohio <\/a><\/p>\n

The official diagnosis was reportedly stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma.<\/p>\n

    \u201cI feel fear and sadness,\u201d the singer\/actor confessed to\u00a0People<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m like, why did this happen? I do not fit the profile of somebody that should get cancer at 33 years old. So yes, there\u2019s a little bit of anger there. But I\u2019m not angry at God. I\u2019m leaning on Him more than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

    The \u201cWorth the Whiskey\u201d singer had previously been told she had dense fibrous tissue but said she recently was feeling tired and she felt a lump. Cancer runs in her family \u2014 her mother has colon cancer \u2013and so that\u2019s what pushed her to go to the doctor.<\/p>\n

    Parasitic illness cases are spiking: The symptoms to watch for, including \u2018explosive\u2019 diarrhea <\/a><\/p>\n

    Now she wants her story to shine as a beacon for others.<\/p>\n

    \u201cI do trust that something good will come from this.\u00a0My hope is that women hear my story and understand the importance of knowing their bodies, trusting their instincts and advocating for themselves,\u201d\u00a0she told People<\/a>, explaining that in some ways she still feels like the \u201cluckiest girl alive.\u201d<\/p>\n
