Wizkid)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>In May, Jorja Smith reunited with Nigerian-British producer P2J for &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hbDcfEhaQBc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">What&#8217;s Done Is Done<\/a>,&#8221; and now she&#8217;s announcing a new album. <em>What Are The Odds<\/em> arrives this summer, and we get another preview today with &#8220;Alive&#8221; featuring Wizkid.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Making this with P2J and WizKid felt really easy,&#8221; Smith told <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/rb-hip-hop\/jorja-smith-what-are-the-odds-release-date-alive-single-1236285630\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Billboard<\/em><\/a>. &#8220;We wrote and recorded it together in London. I think we captured that feeling when you\u2019re at the beginning of something with someone and everything feels exciting. I\u2019ve always loved WizKid\u2019s music and the way he\u2019s opened so many doors for Afrobeats around the world, so it feels really special and a big honor to have a song with him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>What Are The Odds<\/em> is produced by P2J, who did her 2023 LP <em>Falling Or Flying<\/em>. Here&#8217;s what Smith told <em>Billboard<\/em> about the new record:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>This album came together really naturally. There was never a big plan; it was just me making music that felt right in the moment. Working with P2J, we started experimenting with different sounds, pulling from U.K. garage, grime and house (funky house, Afro house) and it all grew from there.<\/p>\n<p>The music feels uplifting, but the lyrics can be a bit sad at times. They&#8217;re about growing up, love, loss, friendships and figuring things out as I go.
