But their trip has been shrouded in uncertainty regarding their security while they’re in the country. The Duke was waiting for a review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), part of the process by which the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) rules on his security requirements, but learned last Friday that the review had not yet taken place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Last week, the Sussexes\u2019 spokesperson said: \u201cThe duke continues to explore every available option to enable the visit to proceed safely and to give his children the opportunity to enjoy the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Daily Mail<\/a>\u2019s Editor-at-Large hit out at the couple and their comms team over allegedly not including her outlet in briefings sent to \u201cfavoured reporters,\u201d which, according to her, led to everything \u201cfalling down\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She said on the Palace Confidential podcast: \u201c’I went to the Sussexes’ camp on Thursday to tell them what my story about the trip was going to be – and to offer them the chance to come back to me.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThey did not. However, what they did do was make sure that on Friday, they issued an operational note to their favoured reporters to tell them exactly what was happening on every day of the visit.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She added: \u201cThe problem was, the following day, the wheels came off. They started issuing guidance saying: \u2018Oh, woops, Harry is now thinking he might not come at all.\u2019 It all just fell down around their ears in an unedifying, chaotic and misbriefed way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ms Boshoff said the main victims of the Sussexes\u2019 \u201cchaos\u201d are King Charles and Prince Harry<\/a>\u2019s charities, which he was due to support during the trip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She said: \u201cThis has had a really big effect on the charities that Harry confirmed he would be supporting on this visit.\u201d It’s now all up in the air, so that’s exceedingly unhelpful, and I feel sorry for them on a human level.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She even accused the Sussexes of briefing out false information, including the claim that the King had personally offered his help with their security while in the UK.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ms Boshoff said: \u201cWhat you see here looks very much like some attempt to manipulate that situation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThis is a truly invidious position for the King because he is trying to move forward out of this locked situation where Harry and Meghan feel victimised.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cHe’s trying to unlock it, and it’s just absolutely impossible. It’s just the complete opposite of well organised and coordinated.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
