Pen\u00e9lope Cruz was asked on Hot Ones<\/em> about her longtime friendship with Salma Hayek<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n The two actresses once endured a “really crazy” Halloween on a plane that ended up having an emergency, the Ferrari<\/em> star recalled<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Cruz said that she and her friend were “wearing clown wigs and outfits” at the time<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Pen\u00e9lope Cruz<\/a> is reflecting on her longtime friendship with Salma Hayek<\/a> \u2014\u00a0and their most memorable moments together.<\/p>\n One of them happened on a “really crazy” Halloween Cruz, 52, shared with Hayek, 59, whom she called “another sister for me” in the Thursday, July 2 installment of First We Feast’s Hot Ones<\/em><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n When host Sean Evans<\/a> asked for a notable memory with her costar in the hit 2006 action-comedy Bandidas<\/em><\/a>, Cruz remembered “wearing clown wigs and outfits” for Halloween one year. “I don’t like clowns,” she said. “They are scary no matter what.”<\/p>\n Pen\u00e9lope Cruz and Salma Hayek in 2005 The star ofThe Invite<\/em><\/a> said that she and Hayek were on an airplane full of people: “Imagine, 10 of us were dressed like clowns. And then the pilot said, ‘Oxygen masks! We’re having a depressurization of the cabin,’ ” Cruz recalled.<\/p>\n Amid the alarming plane emergency, “stewards were running, like [holding] the whole oxygen tank,” she said. “We were very lucky, we landed safely. But that was such a crazy bonding experience.”<\/p>\n Cruz and Hayek had to board another plane \u2014 again, in full clown get-up \u2014\u00a0“because we were supposed to be shooting a few hours later,” the Oscar<\/a> winner said.<\/p>\n “Of course we were late on set,” she added. “But alive.”<\/p>\n Cruz previously recalled the Halloween story in a 2017 PEOPLE interview<\/a>.<\/p>\n The two actresses have remained close since bonding on the set of Bandidas<\/em>, in which they played an unlikely duo becoming bank robbers.<\/p>\n “I was coming [to Los Angeles] for two months and I didn’t know anyone here,” Cruz recalled in a 2023 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show<\/em><\/a> when describing first meeting<\/a> Hayek, who “picked me up and said, ‘You’re not going to the hotel.
