On what should have been a bustling night for OBriens Bar & Grill, the New York City establishment\u2019s owner blamed Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> and Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> for his place being empty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve wronged us, make it right,\u201d Michael O\u2019Brien<\/strong> exclusively told Us Weekly<\/i> about the A-list couple on Thursday, July 2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

OBriens Bar & Grill is located on 31st Street, directly across the street from Madison Square Garden, where Swift and Kelce, both 36, are rumored to be getting married<\/a> on Friday, July 3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The area surrounding the Garden, and therefore OBriens, has been largely barricaded and flooded with law enforcement since Thursday, July 2, when Swift and Kelce are rumored to have had their rehearsal dinner<\/a> inside the arena.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJust hours before Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are expected to get married, President Donald Trump inserted himself into the conversation by sharing an Eras Tour-themed poster that featured himself. The White House\u2019s X account shared a photo on Thursday, July 2, inspired by Swift\u2019s Eras Tour poster, which included a black and white photo [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve reached out to the city, the mayor\u2019s office, NYPD, Travis Kelce\u2019s PR team, Taylor Swift\u2019s management company, I believe owned by her family or run by her family,\u201d O\u2019Brien said. \u201cTravis and Taylor stonewalled [us]. No replies to emails or phone calls or messages left.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Brien explained he was interested in working together with Swift and Kelce, given his bar\u2019s proximity to their reported wedding venue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe offered the place for their people, for their guests, for their staff as a place to relax, hang out,\u201d he said. \u201cMaybe the staff wants to eat [or] cater a private event while their event is on across the street; staff that works for them, road crew, whatever.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Brien continued, \u201cOr we said, if you want a private event with the block closed, look to buy us out. Whether you want to use us as a function or you just want us closed for privacy, we are more than willing to do whatever it is you need. Work with us, talk to us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite his best efforts, O\u2019Brien said he received \u201cno response.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

While the NYPD has told O\u2019Brien that the sidewalk in front of his bar remains open, he has not found that to be the case.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you look outside, you see nothing but barriers at either end of the sidewalk, not allowing people down the street,\u201d O\u2019Brien said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All of the commotion comes at an inopportune time for the bar, given the holiday weekend and all of the excitement about the 2026 World Cup<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
