They&#8217;re helped out on bass by both The Aristocrats&#8217; Bryan Beller and Periphery&#8217;s Adam &#8216;Nolly&#8217; Getgood, and new single, <em>delirium<\/em>, is a proper prog-rocking banger!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis EP was born from a period of reflection and rediscovery,&#8221; the band say. &#8220;Over the last few years, we\u2019ve faced challenges that forced us to look inward, both as musicians and as people, and the songs on this record are the result of that journey. It&#8217;s taken from their upcoming album, <em>Cycles In The Infinite Dream<\/em>, which is out through Sargent House on July 24, and which offers a sound that binds together prog, psych and something a little more muscular. We&#8217;re certainly liking what we&#8217;ve heard so far&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe moved towards the dream and subconscious state as a lyrical concept and melodic theme,\u201d the band explains. \u201cThe pseudo-waking state is a reflection of a second existence\u2014something that you can flee to or be imprisoned by.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr id=\"elk-b211bcf7-398b-4cbd-8a50-bc7ef7133e7e\"\/><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" id=\"elk-7343b434-aa35-4c2c-918e-3217f0260ea0\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"enslaved-spirit-helper-3\">ENSLAVED &#8211; SPIRIT HELPER<\/h2>\n<p id=\"elk-93c9da60-0f0f-40af-8e53-d0b62086a37b\">Norwegian prog metallers Enslaved continue to explore new musical territory light years away from their original black metal sound with the release of <em>Spirit Helper<\/em>, a collaboration with Kevin Kicking Woman (his family&#8217;s spiritual tribal name), an Elder of the Blackfeet Nation. Spirit helper is the physical documentation in this process.&#8221;<\/p>\n<hr id=\"elk-68f5ed5b-5502-4f71-9571-0610033915cd\"\/><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" id=\"elk-a8d63c9a-27e4-4c6c-b459-b3258d95b207\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"happy-the-man-fourth-of-july-an-american-suite-3\">HAPPY THE MAN &#8211; FOURTH OF JULY: AN AMERICAN SUITE<\/h2>\n<p id=\"elk-778a629f-cb48-4e40-be9b-3ec1b993e2d7\">US prog rockers Happy The Man have shared a video for their brand new single, <em>The Fourth Of July: An American Suite<\/em>, the first new music from the band in over 20 years! It comes courtesy of drummer Ron Riddle, originally created in the 2000s during his years as composer for the television series <em>Detonators<\/em>. It also features a nucleus of original Happy The Man members who have continued collaborating musically in recent years, including bassist Rick Kennell and guitarist Stanley Whitaker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis project feels strangely inevitable,\u201d says Riddle. \u201cThe original piece already carried the DNA of Happy The Man inside it. What\u2019s exciting now is hearing those ideas finally realised by the musicians who inspired that side of the writing in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr id=\"elk-a1257863-0b52-407a-b0ab-f2a12df1f54d\"\/><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" id=\"elk-2a09de87-09fc-4cef-b7be-0cf66bd766fd\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"stick-men-swimming-in-tea-3\">STICK MEN &#8211; SWIMMING IN TEA<\/h2>\n<p id=\"elk-7e4c1b25-c830-4e6f-a9a7-c6c179fa3d4d\">Stick Men really should need no introduction to <em>Prog<\/em> readers, featuring as they do King Crimson\u2019s Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto along with multi-instrumentalist and composer Markus Reuter. The trio are releasing their first new album in a decade with <em>Let\u2019s THRAK Again<\/em>, a Robert Fripp-sanctioned homage to King Crimson\u2019s <em>THRAK<\/em>, out via their Bandcamp page on September 4, and from which comes new single, <em>Swimming With Tea<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Let&#8217;s THRAK Again<\/em> is 60 minutes of pure, kinetic energy,&#8221; notes the band. &#8220;We didn&#8217;t just write 12 new compositions; we designed an entirely new sonic vocabulary for them. Our audience listens deeply. They don&#8217;t just want to hear the notes; they want to understand the architecture of the sound. An eclectic bunch at the best of times, the band&#8217;s new single <em>Snow<\/em> is a catchy yet brooding and meditative slice of proggy electronica that could easily win the band an army of new fans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe slightly lift the veil to uncover the themes of <em>A Flower To Water<\/em> in black and white,&#8221; the band state. &#8220;We speak of grief as a process, its marks on time, the anticipation of the new.
