Prince William popped by Travis and Jason Kelce\u2019s podcast New Heights<\/em>, with the episode arriving only hours before the Kansas City Chiefs player\u2019s big wedding<\/a> to Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n In the 30-minute interview, William shared the origins of his love of soccer, attending Swift\u2019s Eras Tour in 2024, and his thoughts on the World Cup so far. Travis opened the conversation by asking if it was William\u2019s father, King Charles, who got him into soccer and Aston Villa FC. Absolutely not,\u201d William replied. \u201cMy father hates football.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n He added that he\u2019s been anticipating the World Cup \u201cfor a long time.\u201d William, who has been involved with the Football Association for 20 years, said he is \u201cquietly\u201d hoping England will improve their current standing.<\/p>\n \u201cAs each World Cup goes on and the results don\u2019t quite go your way, a little bit of hope gets chipped away each time,\u201d William said. \u201cSo I\u2019m just, you know, I\u2019m taking it calmly and quietly and like, \u2018Come on, we\u2019re going to do well\u2019 and see how we go. But I am quietly confident.\u201d He added, \u201cIf we lose, we lose playing the way we want to play.\u201d<\/p>\n Later in the interview, Jason turned the conversation to American football. \u201cWhat is the most iconic moment at Wembley Stadium: Travis scoring a touchdown in 2015 against the Lions or Travis as a backup dancer to the one and only Taylor Swift?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n \u201cTravis as a backup dancer,\u201d William replied.<\/p>\n \u201cDefinitely a very proud moment of my life, for sure,\u201d\u00a0Travis added of his moment onstage in 2024. When William suggested he do it again, Travis confirmed, \u201cIf Tay\u2019s gonna sign up for a tour, I\u2019ll happily make sure that we bring [it] back to life.\u201d<\/p>\n Travis added that meeting Prince William and his kids, George and Charlotte, at one of the Eras Tour stops in London was \u201cone of the coolest moments ever.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMe and Jason joke about it all the time,\u201d Travis said. \u201cWe were so nervous to meet you guys and the royal family. Jason has this running joke where he didn\u2019t know what to do with his beer.\u201d<\/p>\n Jason added, \u201cYeah, it wasn\u2019t a joke. It was reality. You want to be respectful and know what the protocols are. But it was awesome and you were fantastic. The kids were great. Princess Charlotte was still the highlight for me. I have four daughters as well, so she was great.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cCongratulations having four daughters,\u201d William replied. \u201cI don\u2019t know how you do that.\u201d<\/p>\n After their chat with William, Travis and Jason marveled at securing him as a guest. \u201cWe thought were gonna be talking to, like, fat offensive linemen, not kings, queens, princes of other nations,\u201d Jason said. \u201cThis is pretty wild.\u201d<\/p>\n Rumors previously flew that William might attend Travis\u2019 wedding to Swift, set for later today at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In May, Heart Breakfast co-host Amanda Holden asked William if he had received an invite to the nuptials. \u201cNo comment,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m hoping, and I\u2019m sure there might be an invitation around, but we\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n However, People<\/em> confirmed<\/a> that William and his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, are not expected to be present at the wedding<\/a>.
