Speaking about the track, vocalist <strong>Becca Bottomley<\/strong> shares, <em>\u201c<strong>Closer To You<\/strong>\u00a0started on an acoustic guitar during an improv session in the living room of <strong>Jack<\/strong>\u2019s parents\u2019 old house. The chorus came out of nowhere, but looking back, it clearly came from a very real place. Early on in my relationship with <strong>Jack<\/strong>, I wanted something so deep \u2013 more than I felt capable of offering, accepting, or even believing was possible. I wanted true love.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This song has been on a massive journey, growing and evolving at the exact same time I was doing the inner work on myself. Because I\u2019ve lived with it for so long, releasing it now feels like letting it fly away; it almost feels separate from me now. Maybe you\u2019ll hear that perspective in the music, but I\u2019m okay with letting it just exist.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Sitting here on the couch today, I feel the most secure and loved I have ever felt in my life. I\u2019ve made it to the other side of what I used to crave so desperately.
