Americans celebrating the Fourth of July on Saturday woke up to the biggest news of all: new music from Beyonc\u00e9.<\/p>\n
The superstar singer dropped a single<\/a> titled \u201cMorning Dew (Donk),\u201d her first music since the 2024 album \u201cAct II: Cowboy Carter.\u201d<\/p>\n The single \u201cstarts a 60-day countdown to her next birthday, and the re-issue of B\u2019DAY, her ground-breaking second album that was released two decades ago on September 4, 2006,\u201d according to a press release.<\/p>\n The Beyhive, as Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s fanbase is known, has been eagerly awaiting her \u201cAct III\u201d project which has long been speculated to be a tribute to rock music much as 2022\u2019s \u201cAct I: Renaissance\u201d paid homage to disco, club, house and funk while 2024\u2019s \u201cAct II: Cowboy Carter was her love letter to country, southern music and her Texas roots.<\/p>\n Beyonc\u00e9 has dropped hints to stoke the speculation.<\/p>\n She dressed as rock\/funk icon Betty Davis for Halloween 2024, took part in Levi\u2019s \u201cDenim Cowboy\u201d campaign last year that ended with her riding off on a motorcycle<\/a> and posted a series of photos in April of her dressed in purple that many fans took to be a nod to the late rocker Prince who died in April 2016.<\/p>\n \u201cMorning Dew (Donk)\u201d will probably reinforce the theory, as in the opening lines Beyonc\u00e9 mention\u2019s Prince\u2019s legendary 1984 film \u201cPurple Rain\u201d which spurred a hit single and soundtrack of the same name.<\/p>\n The new song, written by Beyonc\u00e9, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream and Darius Dixon, and produced by Beyonc\u00e9 and Pharrell Williams, will be included on the 20th Anniversary edition of \u201cB\u2019Day.\u201d<\/p>\n
