during the COVID-19 lockdown<\/a>.<\/p>\n\u201cWe went for two months thinking that the kids\u2019 schools would be reopened in\u00a0California, and they weren\u2019t,\u201d she recalled. \u201cAnd, so, they were doing online, and the schools there were open. And, so, we were able to put our 6-year-old daughter in kindergarten for the spring semester.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd that was a huge thing for us because we just wanted her to be around other children and have that kindergarten experience. And during that time, we met some amazing families just organically by the school,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\nLarter and husband Hayes MacArthur share two children \u2014 son Teddy, 15, and daughter, Vivienne, 11 Instagram\/alilarter<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cAnd living in the town and just skiing with our children. And we really spent a tremendous amount of time together as a family.\u201d<\/p>\n
After\u00a0living in Idaho\u00a0during the latter half of the school year, Larter and her family returned to Los Angeles for the summer, and they realized that \u201cthere are so many demands as an actor\u201d when living in the city.<\/p>\n
She explained that actors not only audition frequently but are \u201cexpected to show up for so many things,\u201d including parties and charity events. While she loves LA and says her \u201cheart will always be there,\u201d she wanted a more family-focused lifestyle.<\/p>\nLarter plays Angela, Billy Bob Thornton\u2019s recently reconciled ex-wife, in \u201cLandman.\u201d Emerson Miller\/Paramount+<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cWe just didn\u2019t want to do that. We wanna be with our children,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd, so, that\u2019s when I think the biggest change was we came back after that summer, and we just made a go for it and said, \u2018Let\u2019s try this and see if it works.’\u201d<\/p>\n
Larter attended the Newport Beach TV Fest that honored \u201cLandman,\u201d in which she plays Angela, Billy Bob Thornton\u2019s recently reconciled ex-wife.<\/p>\n
On the red carpet, Larter told Fox News Digital that Angela is a \u201cwildcat,\u201d and she wishes she could channel her a little bit more in everyday life.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
