The Crown Princess of Norway is recovering at home following a
\nlung transplant.<\/p>\n
Crown Princess Mette-Marit is out of hospital and back with her
\nfamily and she chose an important moment to reveal her health
\nupdate.<\/p>\n
As Norway celebrated dumping World Cup favourites, Brazil, out
\nof the tournament in a shock result. Mette-Marit was seen joining
\nthe festivities from her home in Oslo.<\/p>\n
Pictured with her husband, Crown Prince Haakon, she was seen
\nmarking the moment that Norway put Brazil out of the tournament to
\nprogress to a quarter final match against England.<\/p>\n
Mette-Marit, 52, looked well and happy just weeks after doctors
\nconfirmed she had undergone a lung transplant. She was diagnosed
\nwith pulmonary fibrosis in 2018 and in recent months, her health
\ndeteriorated sharply, On Norway\u2019s National Day, in May, she
\nappeared wearing an oxygen tube and looking very unwell. Later,
\nCrown Prince Haakon confirmed that her health had taken a turn for
\nthe worse.<\/p>\n
In June, the Royal Palace announced that the Crown Princess had
\nundergone a lung transplant and said no further details would be
\nreleased until she was back home.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, her daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, 21, was at
\nthe match that saw Norway head into the quarter finals. The second
\nin line to the throne was at the New York New Jersey stadium for
\nthe historic 2-1 win that sealed the spot in the last eight for her
\nnational team. She was joined by her younger brother, Prince Sverre
\nMagnus.<\/p>\n
This is the first appearance in the World Cup for Norway since
\n1998 \u2013 Ingrid Alexandra wasn\u2019t even born when they last competed on
\nthe global stage.<\/p>\n
As Norway\u2019s footballers made history, the country\u2019s royal family
\nwere the first to congratulate them with King Harald, 89, and Queen
\nSonja, who just celebrated her 89th birthday, photographed waving
\nNorwegian flags as they enjoyed the game.<\/p>\n
Crown Prince Haakon went one step further and headed out to join
\na fanzone where he dived into the crowd and joined in their
\ncelebrations.<\/p>\n
Crown Princess Mette-Marit, meanwhile, watched from the palace
\nwindows.<\/p>\n
Her reappearance is the latest stage in her recovery which is
\nexpected to take several months.<\/p>\n
