James Taylor<\/a> did not attend Taylor Swift<\/a> and Travis Kelce<\/a>\u2018s wedding.<\/p>\n During his annual Independence Day weekend show with his All-Star Band at the Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood in Lenox, Mass., Taylor told the crowd that he was invited \u2014 but ultimately didn\u2019t go.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, Kim and I were invited to a wedding at Madison Square Garden tonight,\u201d Taylor, 78, said, referring to Swift and Kelce\u2019s star-studded wedding<\/a>, according to The Berkshire Eagle<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n Then, he wished the newlyweds well and hoped for \u201chappiness and smooth sailing.\u201d<\/p>\n Taylor and Swift have a unique connection, as Swift once revealed she was named after him. In a 2024 interview with USA Today<\/em><\/a>, Taylor recalled meeting Swift for the first time about \u201c15-16 years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe did a benefit for [the Candie\u2019s Foundation], an organization that tries to help with teenage pregnancy, and it was interesting,\u201d he said of Swift, 36. \u201cWe were both there with guitars and played a couple of songs.
