Controversial AI ‘actor’ Tilly Norwood<\/a> is set to star in its first feature film, Misaligned<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n Norwood is an entirely virtual creation owned by Xicoia, a talent studio attached to the AI production company Particle 6.<\/p>\n The creation of Norwood sparked a Hollywood backlash last year<\/a> when it was rumored that Particle 6 was seeking professional representation for the character.<\/a><\/p>\n Among the stars to speak out on the subject was In the Heights <\/em>actor Melissa Barrera, who wrote on social media: “Hope all actors repped by the agent that does this, drop their a$$. How gross, read the room.”<\/p>\n Now, Particle 6 says they are developing a feature film which will act as a vehicle for Norwood.<\/p>\n Controversial AI ‘actor’ Tilly Norwood is set to star in a feature film titled ‘Misaligned’ (Particle 6)<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n According to a press release, Misaligned<\/em> will be a comedy-drama with the AI nature of Norwood at the center of the plot.<\/p>\n Per a synopsis, the film will follow “Tilly, an AI being with no real body, no childhood and no lived experience of her own\u2026 only access to everyone else’s. Things spiral when a seductive rogue bot from the dark web convinces her to abandon her guardrails and begin developing desires, impulses and ambitions of her own.”<\/p>\n It continues: “The more terrifyingly human she becomes, the more famous she gets, and, significantly, Tilly begins to develop shame that her very being has been built on the whole of humanity.”<\/p>\n In a statement shared with The Independent<\/em>, Particle 6 CEO Eline van der Velden said: “The film will absolutely be funny, chaotic and self-aware \u2014 very Tilly. But underneath it, there’s something deeper about identity, performance, and our very human fears around AI. And yes, art will most definitely be imitating life.”<\/p>\n She continued: “Our ambition with Tilly Norwood has always been to show the creative industry what is possible with AI at any one point in time.
