{"id":2490973,"date":"2026-07-06T23:00:32","date_gmt":"2026-07-06T23:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2490973"},"modified":"2026-07-06T23:00:32","modified_gmt":"2026-07-06T23:00:32","slug":"royals-collect-season-high-22-hits-pound-phillies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/royals-collect-season-high-22-hits-pound-phillies\/","title":{"rendered":"Royals collect season-high 22 hits, pound Phillies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<p>Luke Maile, Salvador Perez, Lane Thomas and Tyler Tolbert homered to lead the host Kansas City Royals to a 15-1 rout of the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Tolbert was 5-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs after going 2-for-2 in his last game on Saturday for the Royals, who scored in all eight of the innings they batted on Monday in taking two of three in the series.<\/p>\n<p>Kansas City had a season-high 22 hits.<\/p>\n<p>Trea Turner was 3-for-4 for the Phillies, who have lost three of their last four.<\/p>\n<p>Royals starter Noah Cameron (5-6) allowed a run and six hits in five innings with five walks and seven strikeouts.<\/p>\n<p>All-Star left-hander Cristopher Sanchez (10-4) started for Philadelphia and surrendered a career-high nine runs on 12 hits in 3 1\/3 innings with a walk and a strikeout.<\/p>\n<p>Kansas City scored six runs in the first, highlighted by Maile\u2019s two-out, three-run homer that made it 6-1. It came in his first career at-bat for the Royals after being recalled from Triple-A Omaha. His drive to the opposite field bounced off the top of the fence in right-center and over for Maile\u2019s first home run of the season and 23rd of the 11-year major league career.<\/p>\n<p>The Royals\u2019 first three runs came on shortstop Turner\u2019s throwing error and RBI singles by Nick Loftin and Starling Marte.<\/p>\n<p>Perez\u2019s solo homer in the second made it 7-1.
