The Duke of Sussex \u2013 who lives in California with his family \u2013 will be back in his home country this week to promote his Invictus Games and make a string of other public appearances and initial reports had suggested he would be joined by Meghan and the kids so\u00a0Prince\u00a0<\/span>Archie, seven, and\u00a0Prince<\/span>ss Lilibet, five, could spend some time with their grandfather, King Charles, after four years apart.<\/p>\n However, reports suggest\u00a0Harry\u00a0<\/span>arrived in the country solo and Meghan and the children will not be joining him while he\u2019s in London.<\/p>\n It comes after the trip was complicated by a disagreement over arrangements for\u00a0Harry<\/span>\u2018s stay.<\/p>\n Harry<\/span>\u2018s team initially announced that he will be based at the royal residence of Buckingham Palace for part of his trip, but later emerged that will not be the case.<\/p>\n Insiders said\u00a0Harry\u00a0<\/span>had not formally responded to the king\u2019s offer of accommodation at a royal residence by a deadline of the end of last week, and so was told over the weekend he could no longer stay at Buckingham Palace because a minimum notice period is needed to ensure guests can be hosted and Royal Household staff provided.<\/p>\n The 41-year-old royal\u2019s representative admitted the decision was \u201cdisappointing\u201d and accused the palace of withdrawing the offer \u201cat the last moment\u201d as they explained\u00a0Harry<\/span>\u2018s delay had been due to him putting security measures in place after it was confirmed he wouldn\u2019t receive official protection.<\/p>\n The representative said: \u201cI am aware of multiple briefings from Buckingham Palace last week suggesting that the Duke had not accepted the offer of accommodation at a Royal Residence.<\/p>\n \u201cFollowing RAVEC\u2019s decision not to provide security for his family, the Duke spent last week making alternative security arrangements. Once those arrangements were in place, he was able to formally accept the offer of accommodation for himself over the weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n The representative also claimed the news a High Court ruling on\u00a0Harry<\/span>\u2018s privacy claim against the publisher of the Daily Mail will be published on Tuesday also lead to the offer being withdrawn.<\/p>\n They added: \u201cIt is therefore disappointing that the offer has now been withdrawn, with Tuesday\u2019s judgment in the Associated Newspapers Limited case cited as the reason.
