The president\u2019s remarks about the rapper during a Rose Garden luncheon quickly shifted from political praise to unique compliments.<\/p>\n President Donald Trump praised rapper Nicki Minaj during a White House Rose Garden luncheon on Monday, according to The Daily Beast<\/a>. The 80-year-old president described the 43-year-old rapper in glowing terms during his remarks at the event.<\/p>\n \u201cWe also have a woman that is so respected and so hot and so great, and such a great friend of \u2014 I don\u2019t say conservative, I say of common sense,\u201d Trump said. He added that Minaj is \u201cnot conservative or liberal or as they say now \u2018progressive.’\u201d<\/p>\n Trump then briefly shifted to a rant about Democratic socialists and communism before returning to praise Minaj. \u201cShe\u2019s a fantastic person and she\u2019s a woman that\u2019s respected by everybody,\u201d he said. He also highlighted her talent, asking her to stand for recognition.<\/p>\n Minaj subsequently posted photos and videos from the visit on social media. One image showed her posing beside Trump\u2019s \u201cPresidential Walk of Fame\u201d installation. She also shared a photo with a grinning Trump taken inside the Oval Office.<\/p>\n \u201cWhoa!!!! #WhiteHouseBarbie with her favorite President of all time,\u201d Minaj wrote alongside the post. The Trinidad and Tobago-born rapper has repeatedly expressed strong support for Trump and the MAGA movement.<\/p>\n Trump\u2019s fixation on Minaj\u2019s appearance is not new. During a Black History Month address in February, he brought up her earlier January visit unprompted. \u201cI love Nicki Minaj. She was here a couple of weeks ago. She\u2019s so beautiful. Her skin\u2019s so beautiful,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n Minaj first visited the White House in January for the launch of Trump Accounts, a savings initiative for newborns.
