State health officials imposed temporary restrictions on the school in May, saying staff did not seek immediate medical care for a student with serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor more than fifty years, children <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2020\/10\/07\/kat-von-d-says-she-was-locked-up-at-same-torturous-school-as-paris-hilton\/\">came forward with stories of abuse<\/a>, neglect, and trauma,\u201d Hilton said in a statement provided Tuesday. \u201cToday, the state confirmed what survivors have known all along: Provo Canyon School failed the children in its care.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI was one of those children. I know what it feels like to cry for help and believe no one is coming. Today, children still inside that facility know someone is finally coming to protect them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hilton, the hotel heiress and media personality, spent almost a year at the school in the late 1990s. The state said in its letter that all services at the campus must be terminated by Aug. 6.<\/p>\n<p>In June, Hilton\u00a0returned to the school\u00a0to speak in support of two families who filed lawsuits alleging their children were mistreated there.<\/p>\n<p>The school is under new ownership.
