Survivor<\/em><\/a> alum Rick Devens<\/strong> is trading the islands of Fiji for the Big Brother<\/em><\/a> house.<\/p>\n

Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a> reported on Tuesday, July 7, that Devens, 42, will be joining the season 28 cast. Devens may not be the sole Survivor<\/em> alum competing for the $750,000 prize as another player, who has not been named, is expected to be on the cast, per the outlet.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> has reached out to CBS for comment.<\/p>\n

Devens first appeared on Survivor<\/em> during the Edge of Extinction<\/em> which aired in 2019. While Devens was the fourth person voted out of the season, he won his way back in the game. Devens went on to find multiple idols and win immunity challenges. Devens was the favorite to win the season but he ended up coming in fourth place, losing to eventual winner Chris Underwood<\/strong> in the fire-making challenge.<\/p>\n

Following his season, Devens ultimately went on to be Jeff Probst<\/strong>\u2019s cohost on the \u201cOn Fire\u201d podcast during Survivor 45<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Devens returned to compete on Survivor<\/em> in its milestone 50th season dubbed \u201cIn the Hands of Fans.\u201d The beloved news anchor \u2014 who was an alternate before officially making the cast \u2014 was a fan favorite due to his island shenanigans and was responsible for flipping the Mr. Beast<\/strong> coin to ensure that the season\u2019s cash-prize doubled to $2 million. (Devens ultimately lost the season as pal Aubry Bracco<\/strong> was crowned the Sole Survivor.)<\/p>\n

News of Devens\u2019 casting comes hours after CBS announced the cast for Big Brother 28<\/em><\/a>. In the initial announcement, 14 new players were introduced. Amongst the new faces are an MMA fighter, a game show host, a drag queen who previously appeared on Drag Race<\/em> and more.<\/p>\n

Fans immediately raised their eyebrows as most Big Brothe<\/em>r seasons include at least 16 houseguests. Rumors have swirled that season 28 could feature returning Big Brother<\/em> players or reality TV veterans. CBS hinted on Tuesday that \u201cadditional surprise Houseguests will be revealed on air\u201d during the Thursday, July 9, premiere.<\/p>\n
